This is an amazing bed. Goes well with my boho-midcentury decor. The bed is sturdy and does not squeak. I love that is not black metal but bronze/brown. I have a 7-inch boxspring and 10-inch memory foam mattress and the headboard is visible just fine. I did read other reviews on the knobs, but I haven't had any issues with them. So far, they are tight and sturdy. I use a king comforter so the black rails are not an issue for me. I don't think they would be anyway and I am particular with those types of things. Well worth the money spent.

This bed frame was purchased 4 years ago and has survived a move and it is still in excellent condition. It appears to be wood but it's actually metal qnd has a gorgeous bronze look. I highly recommend this bed.

Four of five stars because it was not the easiest bed to put together. Also, a screw or two were missing. That being said, it is really pretty once we got it together.

The bed is very nice. However once it arrived it had a pretty sizable scratch on the metal which was frustrating. Besides that we’ve loved it.

I like the bed very much, however there was a significant size stain on the tan upholstery when the bed arrived. Overstock’s customer service worked with me to find an acceptable solution to the issue. After having the bed for sometime I did reupholster the headboard. I was thrilled at how easy it was to change the upholstery.

Huge disappointment. I suppose you get what you pay for! My mom wanted this bed for so long; I finally talked her into buying it. It took a long time to assemble based on the massive amount of parts—maybe 2 hours with one person. Not a dealbreaker at all but … so many things wrong with it. One of the headboard screws won’t go in, leaving the headboard only semi-attached; the threaded hole wasn’t properly drilled into the headboard—you can see it will only go in part way (photo). One of the balls won’t go all the way onto the headboard top. There is a random hole in each of the footboard legs (photo). And if that weren’t enough, the frame is far larger than a full-size mattress. There is nearly 2” of extra space in the side and 5” on the end. (Photo) That means that when you sit in it, the mattress slides considerably because the 3 support slats are metal, on metal rails… and shorter than the frame width. They screw on, but only loosely = noisy. One could insert pieces of wood on each side to keep the mattress from sliding however. We would have done that if not for the previous problems. Overall just a huge disappointment. It’s going back.

Questions & Answers

Does this work with an adjustable base?
Hello. We recommend using the cross bars that come with the bed for additional support compared to an adjustable base. Thank you.

Will the Cali. King mattress fit the king size?
A California king mattress would not fit the king size bed.

What is the desired mattress + box spring height so that there will not be a gap between the top of the mattress and the bottom of the headboard? How high is the gap from the top of the slats to the base of the headboard?
The gap between the slats and the headboard is 16.6 inches on the queen size bed.

What is the height from the top of the mattress to the center of the headboard on the queen bed frame?
That will depend on the height of your mattress and box spring. The headboard is approximately 47.6 inches high in the center and the box spring and mattress sit on slats that are 7.7 inches high.

Is it equally effective to use wooden slat as foundation? Is there a metal divider in the center of the bed (from the headboard to the foot board) to be able to install wooden slats? Could you recommend any specific brands / Overstock item? Thanks!
This bed includes three metal slats. We do not recommend adding slats to this bed, or altering the construction as it will void the warranty.

I noticed a comment about the side bars being black instead of brown. Is this true?
The rails tbat hold the matress and box spring are black. I do not find that this detracts from the bed at all. It will most likely be coverd by any bed coverings and if not it works with the brown posts.

Would I be able to put a "Wooden Slat / Mattress Foundation / Platform Bed Frame / Box Spring Replacement" instead of getting a box spring?
Yes, any type of foundation can be used. It doesn't have to be a box spring.

Would I be able to put a "Wooden Slat / Mattress Foundation / Platform Bed Frame / Box Spring Replacement" instead of getting a box spring?
I also purchased this bed frame and headboard and found that it was too low to the floor with only the platform. Also, without a 10 inch foundation under your mattress there is a big open gap between the headboard and the mattress that is not supposed to be there. I solved the problem by purchasing a great metal folding foundation from Overstock. It is a great piece of engineering. It comes in 2 conveniently sized cartons and when you remove them from their containers they open into a fabric covered foundation that fits the bed frame perfectly. Mine is the Queen size but it also comes in a King and is reasonably priced and doesn't weigh much. You should check it out.

Is the overall width of 81.38 for the king size include the finial balls at the top of the post? I only have 81" between nightstands.
mine measures 80 and 3/4 from outside edge to edge. So you would just fit. (That is including the decorative foot design.)

How difficult is it to replace the headboard material? That also coincides with my next question: If I want to repaint the metal, can I easily remove the upholstery?
Yes to both of your questions. The entire fabric panel can be detached. It is held onto the frame in the back with screws. I have not tried to remove the upholstery on mine yet as I decided to let them get dirty first (twin girls), but it should be a breeze. I really like this bed and it feels very sturdy without weighing a ton.

I love this set, before purchasing I would like to know if there has been any complains about it making noise since its metal
According to a few select reviews, some customers did encounter squeaking, however, the number of customers have that this issue is a small majority. To prevent the metal from squeaking, assembly should be made carefully and hardware should be secured properly.

Full / Double

A Full / Double bed is a bed meant for couples to share, however with the emergence of so many size options full-double beds are now mainly meant for single sleepers. Back in the 1940s a couple would perfectly fit and enjoy a full double bed, in fact you might have seen one in those 90s movies a classic full-double bed with a nightstand next to it and an old black and white TV on the wall. In modern day, full-double beds are still very popular, mainly among the younger generation who are not married yet and desire a little bit of comfort. Full-double beds fell out of favor of many couple with the introduction of king and queen size beds in to the markets. But despite that a full-double bed is still an excellent choice for single adults with limited space but still desire a bigger bed.

King

A king size bed is the largest standard bed that you will find in the market plus it measures 76 inches by 80 inches, making it a great and popular choice among couple. Single sleepers with the proper finances also enjoy the luxury and comfort of having a huge bed all to themselves. The King Size bed also comes in different variations which are the California size bed that’s 4 inches longer than a normal king size bed and 4 inches narrower, another variation is the California king size bed, the ideal choice if you are sharing your bed with someone who is more than 6 feet tall. If you are couple looking for a bed with extra comfort and space for the both of you I would highly recommend the King size bed as it’s a combination of unmatched comfort and luxury.

Queen

A Queen Size bed is usually 60 inches by 80 inches. It’s a very popular bed as it ideal for various kind of lifestyle, it can suit a wide range of sleepers such as single sleepers looking for a luxurious bed or couple who are shopping on a budget. A queen size bed can fit in most bedrooms making it ideal for couples who want to share a bed plus also its affordability. The Queen Size bed has different variations in case you need a size larger than a normal queen bed but smaller than a king sized bed. These variations include an Olympic queen sized bed which has 6 extra inches on its width and a California queen which has 4 extra inches in length. A queen size bed will fit perfectly well in large bedrooms and smaller bedrooms.

Twin

A Twin bed also referred to as a single bed is one of the smallest bed in the market with a dimension of 38’’ by 75’’. Its compact size makes it ideal for single sleepers may it be children or an adult living in a small space such as a studio apartment. It’s an affordable and versatile bed set up for various sleepers such as toddlers and college student in the dorm. For over several decades it has been one of the most popular beds among college students and young children in their early teens as you can find it in most of their bedrooms, however in this modern age where people are seeking for more comfort and space, the popularity of twin beds is been over taken by queen size beds. Despite being great for growing children it’s also very flexible and versatile especially if you are trying to maximize the space in your bedroom.

Box Spring Required Standard

Are you looking to upgrade your bed or make a change, but are unsure which components are important and which you can ignore? Box spring is one of those things, and there are a few things that you need to determine if this accessory is necessary or not. Depending on whether you want to put your mattress on the floor or on top of your bed, Box spring will be necessary. The box spring helps a lot by providing underlying support for the mattress. It also raises the mattress to a more comfortable height, helping absorb impact and reducing the wear and tear on the mattress. Depending on your preference, the box spring protects the mattress by absorbing impact.

Brown

Even though brown is not the most obvious color to use when decorating your bedroom. A Brown bed’s warmth nook makes it worth incorporating in to your bedroom. And the fact that you would never expect to see a brown bed or bedroom décor makes it perfect for anyone who loves experimenting on colors and doesn’t like using playful pastels and bright neon’s. To avoid it from being swallowed into the dark bedroom interior, it’s recommended to be used in a bedroom with bright interior colors that bring about more lighting, which is a rich tone up especially to the brown bed and in the process creating another element intrigue. A brown bed is the only way to tone down a bright bedroom interior without having to repaint the walls.

Cherry

A cherry bed bring that traditional look to your bedroom space, with its timeless style that blends seamlessly with a wide variety of interior design concept and colors. A real cherry wood bed brings in that traditional feel and look in to your bedroom giving it that rich and lustrous look. A cherry bed tends to have a dark, reddish-brown theme that deepens with age. It’s also recommended that you place your cherry bed next to a window so that the natural light can accelerate the wood-darkening process. With a cherry bed too many decorative accessories can take the focus off your cherry bed as they are visual distractions making your bedroom space look disorganized and cluttered. The best decoration to use is a glittering chandelier that you hand at the center of your bedroom to illuminate the natural aesthetic of your cherry bed while still providing perfect lighting for your bedtime reading.

Cream

Choosing to decorate your bedroom with a cream bed is all about creating a soothing and restful bedroom environment. And just because you have colored your bedroom wall with other colors such as dusty pink, it doesn’t mean your bedroom can’t be neutral. With a cream bed you can get to maintain that neutral, soothing bedroom environment. If you intend to make a cool cream statement you should invest in a gorgeous cream bed with that luxurious feel. One of the best colors that you can match your cream bed with is soft grey that you can use in pendant lighting and other bedroom furniture.
