Exactly as pictured in both look and color. Nice sophisticated color. Silver nail head trim does not look cheap. Good height headboard with a nice blend of modern and traditional that would go with almost any style decor.

This bed is great! Perfect height for my super thick mattress. The stud detail dresses it up and helps to bring in my chrome and crystal lamps. Plenty of support and not bowstring required!

This bed is low and perfect for kids to climb on. The giant headboard is comfortable. And the detail on it is glued on which gives it a cheaper look.

Does the headboard meet the base completely or is there an empty space between the headboard and the base? Many manufacturers save money by just attaching the headboard to the platform on the sides and leaving some empty space in the middle.

I am not getting confusing comments from the Overstock Customer Care team answering the questions. I was told it was a platform and a box spring could not be used due to safety reasons. Now I read this and it says a box spring is optional and will just add more height. So, which is correct? Can a box spring mattress be safely used or not? Thanks!!
Hello Debra Lynn, it is not recommended that a box spring be used, it will add additional weight to the bed, as well as height. Thanks for shopping with us!

It says in details that a king is available, but not in the drop down menu. Can a king be ordered?Thank you!
Hello deniseschumann, unfortunately, we do not have a King size in stock. Sorry for the inconvenience. Have a great day!

Please check out about the use of a boxspring because I was told by one of your colleagues that a boxspring cannot be used because of the slats and for safety reasons, not height issues. I've been going round and round trying to find out the height from the bottom of the floor to the top of the frame and no one seems to have an answer. That would make s difference for me as to whether I would purchase. If you indeed can use a boxspring safely then again...need to know that! THANKS!!!
Hello Debra Lynn, this is recommended to be used without a box spring, however you are able to do so if needed or you wanted to. From the floor to the side rails is approximately 15 inches high. I hope this information helps you, have a great day!

All you need to know before choosing a gray bed or any other no so bright colored bed is which bedroom décor is the best for that specific bed color. With a gray bed it can be really advantageous especially if you have an all-white bedroom since it will tone down the general look for your bedroom, creating some form of contrast. Fabric is commonly designed for everyday clothing, and, because of its quality, it can also be used for furniture upholstery. Light, simple, and versatile, fabric-upholstered beds can effortlessly match any interior design theme. They are durable and long-lasting. Fabrics are also soft and comfortable and can even make your bed stand out from the rest of your furnishings.

There are different types of fabric-upholstered bed depending on the textile used and each of them has its distinct advantages and disadvantages. A linen-upholstered bed is breathable, easy to clean, and hypo-allergenic, but is prone to wrinkles and low stain-resistance. A velvet-upholstered bed is good for those with pets and can be dyed in rich colors, but high-maintenance and very expensive. A cotton-upholstered bed is abrasion-resistant and allows you to maintain a cool feeling, but not that stain-resistant and its fibers may weaken when directly exposed to sunlight. A corduroy-upholstered bed is durable, low-maintenance, and inexpensive, but can be heavy. But, whichever type you choose, surely fabric can turn your bed into a comfortable one.

Plastic

With an average of 5% usage increase per year, plastic or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) fabric is probably one of the most commonly used textile for bed upholstery in the world, proving its versatility. Also called as "vinyl," PVC is made from 57% chlorine (from salt) and 43% ethylene (from crude oil or sugar crops). You don't have to worry if a certain style is available; a plastic-upholstered bed has a wide variety of design and color choices, which means it looks good on any color scheme and theme. In addition, an everyday use is not a problem for this type of bed upholstery since plastic is designed to be stain-resistant and antimicrobial. It also has a promising strength, durability, and flexibility that can stand distortion and abrasion. Furthermore, many bed makers prefer PVC fabric because of its long lifespan and resistance to water and chemical, making it effortless to clean when your favorite drink spills over.

Polyurethane

Are you a leather fan yet can't seem to afford one? Polyurethane (PU) leather got you! Comes in several names such as bicast leather, split leather, bonded leather, reconstituted leather, and corrected grain leather, PU fabric is a material made of layer/s of polymer resins. A PU coating is added, which gives its leather look. Compared to real leather, PU is easier to clean and washable. It is also animal-friendly, so you don't have to keep your dear pets away from the room. Despite being cheaper, this artificial leather is very durable and doesn't crack with use or fade under sunlight, though it can more easily be torn than the real one. It doesn't dry out over time, as well. Actually, it's a better textile compared to other faux leather alternatives and is more eco-friendly than real leather when talking about sustainability because its production uses less resources.

Comes in varieties of color, PU goes well with a modern industrial style.
