My 18 year old son put it together all by himself and it looks great! It took him about a couple of hours. He got the nightstand to match and we’re going to get a dresser to go with it.

I am very pleased with this purchase. The bed frame is sturdy and stylish. I did have to have two 30x60 plywood panels cut at the local hardware store to use my memory foam mattress on the frame.

Showed up early. Very easy to put together. Be careful tightening up the bolts because it is very easy to break off a head. It's a lot of bolts for the tiny little wrench they give you. Use an Allen head socket on a ratchet. A snug tightening is sufficient. It looks great and goes well with my Colorado cabin.

Bed frame is great, though I didn’t realize I’d need a box spring. That delayed me using the bed for while.

We love the look of the bed and it has been comfortable - it fits perfectly with my teenage son's decor, however, we have not been able to tighten the screws so that it doesn't squeak. Besides the squeaking, we love it.

Hello,I want to purchase the grey wash but the only option for materials that is available is the metal and not metal/wood. Does this mean that if I purchase the grey wash right now the entire bed will be metal and not metal/wood? The only picture of the grey wash available shows metal and wood so this is a bit confusing. Please explain as i need to purchase the bed ASAP.
The one that I purchased said that it was gray wash/metal and it does have the "wood look" in it. Mine looks EXACTLY like the picture and I have been so pleased with the look and durability of the bed. I hope this helps.

Does this need a box spring
Yes, we learned the hard way when it showed up. This is not a platform bed and you will need some sort of box spring or platform insert for your mattress.

Some of the photos appear to show no box spring, but the description says a box spring is recommended. If a bunkie board is put on the platform bed slats instead of box springs and then a mattress is put on top of the bunkie board, will there be a gap between the top of the mattress and the bottom of headboard? Thank you.
It looks like there is a black panel below the headboard that will cover up a gap between the bottom of the headboard and the top of the mattress. Please see the image of the back of the headboard for an illustration.

I bought this bed frame and I am looking to purchase a gel memory foam mattress to go with it. The product description says a box spring is needed. Has anyone used this bed with a traditional box spring and memory foam mattress? Looking for recommendations on which box spring/memory foam mattress combo works well with the carbon loft bed frame. Thanks!
While we aren't able to recommend any brands or specific products, the use of either a bunky board or a box spring is recommend for this item.

Beds come in different sizes ranging from infant-sized cribs to small beds that can just accommodate one person, to large king and queen sized beds designed for two or more people. Most bed are usually a single mattress and a fixed frame, however there are other varieties such as a sofa bed, which folds out of a sofa or a murphy bed that folds in to a wall. Other beds can be referred as temporary beds as they contain neither a bedframe nor a mattress, a good example is the inflatable air mattress or the folding camp cot.

Hardwoods

Hardwood wood varieties refer to the type of tree the wood is taken from; it has nothing to do with how heavy or dense the wood is (contrary to popular belief!). Hardwood woods are sourced from trees that have leaves and lose their leaves in the winter months. Types of hardwood trees include hickory, maple, oak, birch and cherry (among others). Wood from hardwood trees is usually harder and therefore more dense, as these trees tend to grow at a slower rate. Hardwood is ideal for use in indoor furniture crafting, as it is sturdy and durable. Most hardwood varieties are bright and beautiful in their natural tone/shade, but many take well to staining, finishes and paints. The hardwood varieties offer a cozy, warm look and enrich your bedroom style. Hardwood bed frames are a great way to brighten your bedroom and enhance the overall look and feel of your sleep space!

If you’re looking for a way to refurbish your sleep space, purchasing an oak bed should be at the top of your to-do list! Oak is a classic, refined and traditional wood finish that is simply gorgeous. A natural oak finish is typically a warm cherry brown color; however, oak takes to staining quite well. This allows you to change up the look of your furniture to match your ever-changing style and design preferences. The simple grain patterns in oak wood are beautiful and understated; this gives you a timeless look for your bedroom that you’re sure to love for years to come. Oak is heavier than some of the other wood varieties, so assembly of any bedroom furniture is best if there are two or more people. Once properly assembled, oak furniture enhances the coziness of your bedroom and can add a rustic flair to your design motif.
