Before purchasing, I read most of the reviews here. Especially the bad ones. So I was prepared. Bed arrived 2 days before scheduled - bonus! It was packed extremely well. All pieces were protected and arrived in perfect condition. While my husband unpacked, I set the parts out in similar order to the booklet (which had proper and perfect instructions). It was very easy to assemble. We left the bolts loosened until all the parts were on. The ladder is unforgiving on the feet, so I bought a swim noodle, cut it for each rung and slipped it over before attaching the ladder to the bed. Unfortunately, I purchased this bed in January, and swimming stuff was not in season! I finally found one in a thrift store. So keep in mind. The noodle does rotate freely on the rung, so I may have to do something with that - I don't want it to be the cause of a fall. The most annoying part was snapping the mattress supports to the bed slats. My poor fingers got pinched a time or two. I used a tape measure to ensure that they were lined up nice and straight - I used their measurements for this. The beam in the middle of the bed would knock against the bed slats when I pulled down. I figured these were some of the noise complaints I read about. To fix this. I wrapped the beam in a dark cloth - I had an airline blanket which is thin and long and worked perfectly!. After we tightened up all the bolts, I found a wall stud and used a short chain to attach the bed to the wall - I threaded the chain in a dark sock to prevent noises and it from rubbing against the bed. Then we put the mattress on. When my children were finished scampering around, I went over all the bolts again. Sure enough, a few were a bit loose from the moving back and forth to find the perfect bed nirvana.- good bed and good price- noises and wobble-ness could be reduced or eliminated- bolts will not line up unless all are loosened- follow the instructions- easy fix for rung problem- secure to studHopefully this helps someone.Read more

We bought 2 of these and got them at s great price, $84 each. It took me and my husband 3 and a half hours to take down a set of wooden bunk beds and put these 2 up, no missing parts and no mismatched holes :) DO NOT tighten screws until all peices are connected! My boys said the ladder rungs were a little uncomfortable so I used some super strong tape and pool noodle peices to them and now they are perfect, plus look more fun.

I split time between cities in two separate condos. Space is extremely important in the smaller one. So, I got the idea in my head of buying a loft bed.Putting this loft bed together is no walk in the park. This is ideally a 2-3 person job. I ended up putting it together alone and it took me nearly 4 hours to complete. When you're putting this together, as other reviews have stated, do NOT fully tighten any of the bolts right away. This entire frame is "a hair off", which makes fitting some pieces, extremely hard.Once this is put together, it's both sturdy and not at the same time. For one person, it's fine. It's going to creak and flex, but it won't move much. However, if you ever plan to have two people in it, you had better not be moving much because it will absolutely sway. The ladder will kill your feet. Order or have pool noodles on hand. Trust me on this.Overall, look, it's a budget loft bed so expectations need to be tempered. You're getting a lot of material for the cost of this bed. So, given the cost and materials, there's going to be trade-offs.Would I buy this again? No, I wouldn't. However, as I typed that I have to admit I still like a lot about it and it's fun to sleep so high up.In the end, if you buy this, expect the following:1. It will creak.2. It will sway a bit.3. You will need to check the bolts occasionally.4. This is not going to be a several year bed; the materials are just too light and somewhat flimsy.5. Expect the bed to shift around a bit as you move around.6. If your ceilings are under 9 foot tall, don't buy this if you're at all claustrophobic.7. Get pool noodles for the stairs.8. It's will seem far bigger than the measurements.9. Making the bed is time consuming so don't waste your time trying, more than 1-2 times as week.10. This can support 300 pounds, but it's going to let you know about those 300 pounds. If you have the right expectations for this, having a loft is really neat. However, I'd suggest you really put some thought into it before going down this road. This loft is absolutely worth the cost for what you get, but what you get falls short of ideal. In the end, there are better options if you're willing to expand your search outside of budget options.3 starsCheers!Read more

Questions & Answers

Can a 200 lb. adult sleep on this bed?
Yes, my boyfriend and I sleep on it. He's a body builder whom weighs 220. I weigh 115. It shakes when we get on or off it, but thats even when the cats jump off their cat tree on to it.

Would this fit in a room with a ceiling height of 87 inches?
It's not a ton of room up top (definitely need bunkie board and low profile mattress/no box spring), but yes, it works for me with ceilings that height. The part of the bed where the bunkie board and matress sit is around 59-60 inches from ground. Then bunkie boards were 1.5in, and mattress 5in.I did have to purcha… see more

Can you put a normal full size mattress on it? Or does it require the special mattress?
If you put a normal full size, the thick mattress will exceed the safety bars. But, we did it anyway. So far, so good. No kids have fallen out of bed.

What's the size of the area underneath the bunk? Will a twin size bed frame fit in there? Thank you!
A twin mattress would certainly fit, but there is no framing for it. With the framing, you'd have to choose carefully. The area beneath the bunk is the same measurement as the full size mattress.

Full / Double

A Full / Double bed is a bed meant for couples to share, however with the emergence of so many size options full-double beds are now mainly meant for single sleepers. Back in the 1940s a couple would perfectly fit and enjoy a full double bed, in fact you might have seen one in those 90s movies a classic full-double bed with a nightstand next to it and an old black and white TV on the wall. In modern day, full-double beds are still very popular, mainly among the younger generation who are not married yet and desire a little bit of comfort. Full-double beds fell out of favor of many couple with the introduction of king and queen size beds in to the markets. But despite that a full-double bed is still an excellent choice for single adults with limited space but still desire a bigger bed.

Twin

A Twin bed also referred to as a single bed is one of the smallest bed in the market with a dimension of 38’’ by 75’’. Its compact size makes it ideal for single sleepers may it be children or an adult living in a small space such as a studio apartment. It’s an affordable and versatile bed set up for various sleepers such as toddlers and college student in the dorm. For over several decades it has been one of the most popular beds among college students and young children in their early teens as you can find it in most of their bedrooms, however in this modern age where people are seeking for more comfort and space, the popularity of twin beds is been over taken by queen size beds. Despite being great for growing children it’s also very flexible and versatile especially if you are trying to maximize the space in your bedroom.

Black

When trying to open up a smaller bedroom most people often think about bright colors with light hues, but also there is a stronger advantage for going darker and there is no better way to do that than with a black bed. Black is known to amplify small spaces and also set the right mood in your bedroom space. A black colored bed makes your bedroom fell more intimate and special in ways that you could have never imagined before, something that you would never achieve with any of those bright colors. There is nothing as important as setting the right mood in your bedroom especially if you are a couple since it’s the base of your relationship romantically. A black bed adds a touch of intrigue but still blends right into the bedroom décor colors creating a timeless look.

Gray

Gray as a color can be somehow depressing and uninspiring especially in a darker bedroom, and as you already know sleeping in a gray bedroom is not as satisfying as sleeping in a brighter bedroom. Gray might not be as inviting as other colors but that doesn’t mean that a Gray bed is not a good choice for your bedroom. All you need to know before choosing a gray bed or any other no so bright colored bed is which bedroom décor is the best for that specific bed color. With a gray bed it can be really advantageous especially if you have an all-white bedroom since it will tone down the general look for your bedroom, creating some form of contrast. In case you have a bright bedroom and you wish to tone down I would definitely recommend for you a gray bed to help tone down your bedroom décor.

Silver

Sliver is a monochromatic color that creates a clean and elegant bedroom space. A silver colored bed goes perfectly well with a wooden flooring or any other dark wooden furniture in your bedroom. It’s also mainly used in bedrooms with bright blue accent walls to create a perfect environment for to relax after a long day’s work. To many people, silver is still considered a luxurious color and as a result a silver bed is definitely a representation luxury. Silver also has sleep inducing characteristics that will help you get more sleep, on average you are likely to get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. A silver colored bedroom on the other hand doesn’t look boring or washed up, but instead it creates an amazing bedroom with a lot of depth without even considering the contrasting colors.

White

A white bed is definitely a show stopper, it’s plain and simple. Despite people referring to white as lack of other colors, a white bed makes quite a statement. It gives your bedroom space a more open and timeless feel, while allowing your bedroom décor to standout even more clearly. A bed with a pure shade of white energizes your entire space giving it a vibrant new look, giving you the illusion of a more light within your bedroom. What makes a white bed a favorite for many is the fact that white as a color creates a relaxing sleep environment. And as you know choosing the right color is very important, since color is like magic and can influence your state of mind and emotions. If there is one thing you should do right is get yourself a white bed and enjoy every single moment you spend in your bedroom.

Bunk Loft

Sometimes, bunk beds and loft beds are often being used interchangeably. Don't fall for it. These two bed types have a difference. Yes, you may notice that they both have a ladder. However, a bunk bed has at least two beds stacked on top of each other and a loft bed, though a double-level bed as well, is only a single bed. Bunk beds are commonly seen in hostels, military camps, and dormitories. In addition, some of this kind come with a trundle or pull-out bed that can accommodate one more person.

On the other hand, loft beds allow you to use the space beneath your bed as a study or work area or as a closet. If the time will come when you decide that you don't need a bunk bed anymore, don't worry, you can convert it to a loft bed. Simply and carefully remove the bottom bunk. Depending on your needs, both bunk and loft beds are space-saving.

Metal

One of the most asked question when it comes metallic beds is, are they safe for younger children? And the answer is always, yes they are. One of reason to why metal beds have grown in popularity over the last couple of years is the fact that they require less maintenance since as we all know metal does not dent or scratch easily making it even a more attractive option as compared to wooden and plastic beds. When it comes to durability also metal beds are currently the most durable beds in the market more durable than the wooden beds and would even handle more weight than a wooden bed frame. Metal beds are also highly portable since they are lighter than other types of bed, and in case you are the kind of person who love rearranging their bedroom setup you will definitely love the metal bed.

Single Material

When you need to kick back and unwind on your own, you need a single-material bed. Single-material beds are an excellent choice for anyone that likes simplicity and practicality. Without combining materials, you get a clean and uniform looking bed that will match any bedroom. The con of a single-material bed is that they won’t stand out as much as other beds, but this can also be a pro as well, as it means they’ll easily blend into any room and not take attention away from other features that are nearby. The single-material is recommended if you’re after a bed for a minimalist setting, something that looks very simple and neutral - then you’re going to be satisfied by the single-material bed. Single-material beds also look great when you have two separate beds in the same room - the single-material look really gives the room a strong, matching and consistent appearance.

A bed can be referred as a piece of furniture which is used as a place to fall asleep and relax. In this modern age beds consist of a soft cushioned mattress and a bed frame, the mattress is usually resting on a sprung base, solid base, or a wood slats. Beds come in different sizes ranging from infant-sized cribs to small beds that can just accommodate one person, to large king and queen sized beds designed for two or more people. Most bed are usually a single mattress and a fixed frame, however there are other varieties such as a sofa bed, which folds out of a sofa or a murphy bed that folds in to a wall.
