The bed was about a perfect match in dark color for our existing furniture. We were pleasantly surprised that there was wood supports that go across the bottom of the bed. The bed also has substantial space under the bed in case one would desire to put storage containers under the bed.

We bought the entire bedroom suit. Platform bed, 6 drawer long dress, 5 drawer tall dresser and 2 night stands. Everything is super sturdy and solid. Instructions were easy to follow. There were 2 of us putting it together so that made it made it easier. I think it would be very difficult to put together by your self. I did like how there are 3 extra legs going down the middle support. It makes the bed seem extra sturdy. We are using our box springs with the bed simply because I am old school. We will see how it works.

Very sturdy but the holes on the footboard and the headboard were done in the wrong side so we had to drill our own. It’s a beautiful piece and I would definitely purchase again, but I would expect the pieces to all be correct.

This was a great bed for the money. Only draw back…. Lots of parts. I am a single gal with no desire to wield a screw driver…I hired a handyman to put together. He said it wasn’t a big deal.

Overall I really like this bed. You can tell it’s real pieces of wood and they’ve been stained with the color you chose. It’s sturdy and has a nice, classic look. I wish it was a bit more heavy duty (one of my previous beds I bought from here was solid and very heavy). It has enough height the store things underneath and it wasn’t a total chore to put together. A power drill will probably help things. My chief complaint is that the mattress doesn’t fit flush on the bed. There’s either a small gap at the head/foot of the bed depending where you place your mattress. The bed also arrived with a few light scratches and scuffs. I’m sure I could fix this easily with some wood stain but it’s not that noticeable. Also, after just a couple months the bed started squeaking so I had to tighten the screws holding the pieces together. Some had come pretty loose. This could also be from when I put it together (was tired from moving and maybe didn’t tighten things as much as I could have). It was a pretty easy fix regardless.

I like this bed very much. I assembled it by myself; only wish I'd had a power screwdriver handy! Despite there being LOTS of pieces and hardware, the instructions were clear, and I didn't have to redo any steps. The only reason for my giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is the finish on the headboard is a bit uneven. I'll probably be the only person who notices.

I like almost everything about this frame. The finish looks great, the wood is sturdy (the whole thing weighed 110 pounds for shipping), and the instructions are clear. There are even some creative cam-lock substitutes, actually kind of fun to assemble. But. The support beam that runs down the center of the frame is held up by three blocks. Either the blocks were too big, or the place I'm supposed to attach the uh.. "seats" for each end of that beam are about two inches too low. As a result, the bed has a dip in the middle. The angle's slight - maybe 10 degrees if that - but it's noticeable. Easy enough to fix, just kind of a big oversight. Who knows, maybe I'm the only person suffering from "long block" syndrome. All-in-all, it was worth the money. The design looks cool in person.

How far apart are the slats? I would like to know because we are buying a memory foam mattress and I understand they are best on beds with only a couple inches between slats.
Just a few inches apart (2 maybe 3)...the slats are great...you screw the wood slats into the frame in 16 different places...4 each for outsides and 4 each for insides...and the slats are about 1 inch thick maybe a little less....

Can you fit 9 inch mattress under the bed ? Will the middle support not allow?
I don't think you can as, right in the middle under the bed, there is one small leg for support. Anything that is too big and long won't be able to go through because of that leg in the middle. This bed is an excellent purchase though, I highly recommended. I have been able to hide many boxes and long things under it no problem. There's definitely space for storage.

A black colored bed makes your bedroom fell more intimate and special in ways that you could have never imagined before, something that you would never achieve with any of those bright colors. In this modern age beds consist of a soft cushioned mattress and a bed frame, the mattress is usually resting on a sprung base, solid base, or a wood slats. Beds come in different sizes ranging from infant-sized cribs to small beds that can just accommodate one person, to large king and queen sized beds designed for two or more people. Most bed are usually a single mattress and a fixed frame, however there are other varieties such as a sofa bed, which folds out of a sofa or a murphy bed that folds in to a wall. Other beds can be referred as temporary beds as they contain neither a bedframe nor a mattress, a good example is the inflatable air mattress or the folding camp cot.

Cherry

Cherry wood is an elegant, sophisticated and traditional choice when it comes to bedroom furniture, especially bed frames and headboards. The rich color of a cherry wood finish adds a cozy ambience to your bedroom and promotes restful relaxation. Not only is the cherry wood finish a traditional selection and very aesthetically pleasing, it is extremely strong and durable. The rich color of cherry wood is an ideal choice for larger bedrooms, as the darker color can create a large focal point within the room. Cherry wood bedroom furniture is complemented well with warm room colors, such as a rich red, a soft yellow, or a muted orange or terra cotta palette. Alternatively, if you have a smaller room, cherry wood can still look gorgeous against soft blues or grays. Cherry wood enhances the coziness and warmth of your bedroom and is a perfect way to increase the beauty of your sleep space.

Hardwoods

Hardwood wood varieties refer to the type of tree the wood is taken from; it has nothing to do with how heavy or dense the wood is (contrary to popular belief!). Hardwood woods are sourced from trees that have leaves and lose their leaves in the winter months. Types of hardwood trees include hickory, maple, oak, birch and cherry (among others). Wood from hardwood trees is usually harder and therefore more dense, as these trees tend to grow at a slower rate. Hardwood is ideal for use in indoor furniture crafting, as it is sturdy and durable. Most hardwood varieties are bright and beautiful in their natural tone/shade, but many take well to staining, finishes and paints. The hardwood varieties offer a cozy, warm look and enrich your bedroom style. Hardwood bed frames are a great way to brighten your bedroom and enhance the overall look and feel of your sleep space!

Mahogany

Mahogany wood is an extremely strong and durable wood variety derived from mahogany hardwood trees. With its beautiful, rich cherry color, mahogany wood furniture is a more traditional style choice. Mahogany wood bedroom furniture will enhance the coziness of your sleep space and will promote a soothing, restful environment. It’s a great choice for bedroom furniture, as mahogany is very sturdy, and the craftsmanship of these furniture pieces is often ornate and distinctive, and typically include thoughtful and timeless finishing details. Mahogany is a heavier wood, so it’s best to assemble bedroom furniture with another person. Once assembled, mahogany wood furniture is extremely durable and strong, so you can rest assured that your furniture piece will withstand time and use. Mahogany wood pairs especially well with a warm red color palette, and will make your bedroom a cozy, inviting space.

Pine

Do you love a rustic, classic bedroom style? A pine wood bed frame should be at the top of your shopping list! Pine wood is a softwood variety, meaning it is well-suited for use in both indoor and outdoor furniture because of its durability. Pine is a shock-resistant wood that is strong and long-lasting and is well-suited for crafting ornate and intricate details; this only adds more beauty to your home! Pine wood is lighter in color with an almost creamy white appearance; it is beautiful in both its natural state or finished with a stain. Pine wood is also lighter in weight than some other wood varieties, making assembly of bed frames relatively simple and quick. Pine wood bed frames are an ideal wood to stain, which gives you the opportunity to change or enhance your style as your preferences change. It’s a perfect choice whether you want to achieve a rustic, warm bedroom environment, or a more modern, contemporary sleep space.

Softwoods

Softwood wood varieties are wood types that are sourced from cone bearing trees (evergreens with needles), such as spruce, pine, and fir. Softwood wood varieties are well-known for their superb ability to resist decay and/or rot, making them an ideal choice for both indoor and outdoor use; they are long-lasting and very durable. Softwood wood varieties are also versatile and are the top choice for designing and crafting furniture with ornate, distinct details. Softwoods are more vulnerable to dings or dents; however, they are still very sturdy and dependable furniture pieces. Due to the wood type’s versatility, softwood bed frames are ideal for people who love an ornate and detailed décor style. Softwood wood types most often have a neutral, earthy color and pair well with bright color palettes to create a gorgeous contrast and give your bedroom a fresh new look!

Espresso Wood

When talking about coffees, espresso is the strong black one. In furniture and woods, it is actually somewhat similar to that. Espresso is a deep, dark brown color, so dark that it is sometimes mistaken to be jet black when, in fact, it stands between the two colors. If you want your bed to look elegant, go for espresso wood. It will also appear neat because dark color can magically tuck away dirt and dust. When under direct lighting, espresso gives out red hues. Cabinets, tables, and shelves that are in espresso sell more than those in light colors because many people opt for a traditional and classic look. Because of its neutral color, espresso is very versatile. It can go well with any home color scheme and design style. Since it's not black and definitely not a bright color, espresso can be pleasing and gentle to the feeling and to the eyes. It can also make you feel relaxed because of its soothing and coffee-like color, perfect after a long day at work.

Espresso may also be your favorite drink! You will definitely wake up feeling energized just by seeing your bed.
