I searched for a while to try and find a reasonably priced bed frame that does not have any legs/supports in the center that would obstruct from storing a twin mattress underneath. The pictures show no extra legs but, unfortunately, there are actually two. So now I'm having to make major modifications in order for it to work for me. That adds a lot of frustration and cost. It's also not very sturdy because it does not have a fully boxed in frame (headboard helps somewhat but is open where mattress could be passed in/out that side), relies on soft splintering wood slats for stability, utilizes small bolts/screws that easily pull out, and does not have enough surface contact at the meeting surfaces of the structural joints. These issues are very apparent when I try to move the bed (without the mattress) and I see the entire frame twist and contort. For the price it's not terrible and when it's built is has a decent look to it. But, in the end, it doesn't meet my expectations and isn't very high in quality of material or design.

I purchased this bed frame because it is difficult to find many options that do not have support legs in the middle. I needed to store a twin sized mattress underneath and this appeared to be perfect. Unfortunately, there are actually 2 support legs where none are shown in the manufacturer's pictures. So, with this issue alone I'm already quite disappointed. While the frame is thankfully made of solid wood (although a particularly soft kind), it's important to know that the design is poor enough to cause concern anyway. Platform beds typically have an enclosed frame (a square) where the bed rests, however, this one has no frame connection on the headboard side. It relies on the upper part of the headboard for stability but it's nowhere near enough because of the other design issues. The only reason this frame doesn't completely fall apart when used is because it gets a little bit of support from the soft, cracked and poorly fabricated slats. You must be careful because the screws easily tear through the predrilled holes and the slats bend significantly under even very little weight. Since the frame is completely lacking the headboard-side part of the frame, the center support beam is "floating" and is only connected to the low quality slats via only 3 screw. This is a cheap and reckless design. On top of that, all the main frame joints use small bolt sizes along with a very small/narrow contact area so there is very little stability. The whole frame struggles to hold itself together. For example, if you try to move the foot of the bed, the whole frame contorts and you can hear the wood shearing and the bolts being pulled through the soft wood. It seems best to not move or adjust it once it's built.Overall, as it is designed, I wouldn't recommend this bed for use by a person over 120 lbs who might have someone else on the bed or might stand/jump or do anything besides roll in and out of bed.

The frame is unstable and the directions are, at minimum unclear if just not completely wrong. If you assemble wrongly in the beginning, you may need to damage parts to correct it. The frame is weak, and in my opinion should not be sold.

The bed seems very weak. I certainly would not have kids jumping on it. The assembly instructions are vague at best, if not just wrong.

I can't believe I spent that much money on this frame. After opening it and seeing how many pieces had to be used I should have sent it back. Directions are awful. Terrible to put together and and their plugs for the screw holes don't fit the hole so I have screw heads all over the frame.. I'm giving it away.

Hardwoods

Hardwood wood varieties refer to the type of tree the wood is taken from; it has nothing to do with how heavy or dense the wood is (contrary to popular belief!). Hardwood woods are sourced from trees that have leaves and lose their leaves in the winter months. Types of hardwood trees include hickory, maple, oak, birch and cherry (among others). Wood from hardwood trees is usually harder and therefore more dense, as these trees tend to grow at a slower rate. Hardwood is ideal for use in indoor furniture crafting, as it is sturdy and durable. Most hardwood varieties are bright and beautiful in their natural tone/shade, but many take well to staining, finishes and paints. The hardwood varieties offer a cozy, warm look and enrich your bedroom style. Hardwood bed frames are a great way to brighten your bedroom and enhance the overall look and feel of your sleep space!

Walnut

Walnut wood bed frames and headboards are an ideal choice for individuals who prefer a traditional style. Walnut wood is extremely strong and durable; it is one of the more versatile wood varieties and is relatively easy to work with in terms of woodworking craftsmanship. The look of walnut furniture is very clean and simple and can easily adapt into a traditional or contemporary décor style. The natural color of walnut wood is a beautiful, natural tone that will enhance the ambience of your bedroom and it will make it feel relaxing and calm. Walnut wood bed frames are a bit pricier than other available wood varieties, but you get what you pay for; walnut wood furniture is some of the longest-lasting, sturdiest bedroom furniture available on the market. Walnut wood bed frames look incredible when paired with neutral toned fabrics and simple textiles, such as an off-white or muted blue color palette.
