Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!! This baby is SOLID wood. I am a 5' 5" 135pd woman! I had to take it upstairs piece by piece to assemble it upstairs! Which was super easy. I gave it 4 stars because of 2 things. First, the boards that go across the platform aren't as sturdy as the frame itself. I will probably add a large piece of ply wood in the future. Secondly, this didn't come with holes for headboard (which I forgot to check in the first place). Fortunately, I had help drilling in holes to align with a head board I already had!! So If you are worried about it not having the holes, DON'T. This wood is extremely sturdy!! If your handy or know someone that is, get this product!!UPDATE : Ive now had this a for a week and take back my statement about adding more support! the beams are doing great! i have a 12 in mem foam bed, and the frame is holding it in place nicely!!! No squeeking. Boards are sturdy for what they are. FIVE STARS FOR SURE

I have been using this queen sized frame for 3 weeks now and must say that I am pleasantly surprised by it and would have no reservations recommending it to others. I was looking for a solid wooden slat frame for my soon to arrive bed in a box. I confess that some of the previous reviews for this product made me think twice before ordering, but I certainly am glad I did.The box arrived quickly through prime. Although there was a fair amount of damage to the one corner of the box which revealed the packing under it, the frame itself remained unscathed. Several other reviewers had similar experiences so I can only conclude that packing is sufficient enough to prevent anything serious from happening. The box is extremely heavy so I can understand why the damage occurs. (I felt rather bad for the delivery man). The box is roughly 90 pounds so make sure you either have help moving it or are willing to move it piece by piece to prevent injury. The product is well wrapped and everything you need to assemble it is included. All of the pieces were the correct length. (That was something I was concerned about after reading reviews. Some people had issues with the legs being different lengths so I checked them all before constructing the frame). Several reviews also stated that the instructions were rather vague. As long as you can read illustrations and know how the pieces are labeled, you should be fine. The only thing that seemed vague to me was the bar which goes from head to foot in the middle of the bed. One side of it had a black velvet strip running the length of it. That side faces up so when the slats are laid upon it, it prevents noise and movement. I put the frame together by myself and it took around ten minutes. The trick is not to tighten any screws until the entire frame is constructed. All the pre-drilled holes matched up well except the ones on the crossbar (which is the last piece installed). The holes for the crossbar were slightly off, not enough to make it an issue, but enough that I had to "pull" the bar a bit to line it up for the screws. Even before I had all the screws tightened, the frame was solid. The slats were the biggest concern for me as everyone had a different opinion on them. No one seemed to agree on the thickness, distance between, durability, etc. Here's my take on them (pic included). The slats were uniform. Slats are just under 3 inches in width with 2.5 inch spacing between each. They came in two bundles. One end slat from each bundle had holes drilled into it which lined up with pegs on the frame so there was no mistaking how to place the slats on the frame and the ends are secure. Velcro strips adhered on both ends of the slats hold the slats together and sync up with Velcro on the frame. This made it easy to lay them down as it kept them uniform in distance, flush to the frame, and prevented slippage/movement. There are two slats which have white stickers on them. Removing the stickers is supposed to make the two slats adhere to the bottom of the mattress. I decided not to remove the stickers as I rotate my mattress. My mattress is 89 pounds and I have not had it move on the slats unless I purposely move it.The frame is very sturdy. The queen size has 9 evenly spaced legs to support the weight of a mattress. I like the 2.5 inch spacing between the slats. I know many bed companies state up to 4 inches is acceptable, but I feel better with the 2.5 for warranty purposes and hope that it will make the frame more durable through the years. I know that the space beneath the bed is about 8 inches for me. I have no issues sliding my storage bins under which is a plus! (Just have to be aware that 3 support legs break up the space underneath). An added bonus is having my feet flat on the floor when I sit on the edge of the mattress. Great height for getting in and out of bed without struggling! For the price, you can't go wrong.Read more

i confess, this bed was the first self-assembly in my life ever as i recently start to live alone in the city. i was afraid..what if I fail? so i checked through all the possible reviews of beds in amazon almost for 3 days to find what is perfect for me - easy to assemble, no special tools required. and this Zinus turned out to be correct. from unpacking to final stage it took about 1hr and 15mins. English is my 2nd language, so I took a few more minutes to read assembly guide to be careful. it has been 2 weeks so far using the bed - like other users, i also see that mattress above the frame is not perfectly fixed, but not as much as to ruin sleeping or bother you in daily life. you can have enough space below the bed to keep your travel luggages etc.

First, the good -- it's an attractive bed, and it's at a good height. I like the system with the velcro and the sticky tape so that the slats and the mattress stay in place. Now, the not so good. Given this is a king-size bed, one might reasonably expect this bed to support the weight of two people. And as is often the case when two people share a bed, those people might want to engage in adult activities. Unfortunately, this bed does not meet those expectations. The metal that the middle supports are made of is too weak, and the legs can bend, which makes the whole central rail sag. The bolts holding the metal legs to that central rail back out, which causes the legs to flop around and become more prone to bending. And the plastic caps that form the bottoms of the square tubing are crap and will get pressed into the square tubing, which causes the metal edge to really do a number on your hardwood floors. The attached pictures show what happened within two weeks of using the bed -- the bent middle leg, the flimsy end cap, and the damage to the hardwood.

Does it squeak? Has anyone used this daily for 6 months or more? Do you still like it?
We bought this bed frame about 4.5 years ago in Queen size. The two of us are less than 300 lbs total. Our chonker of a cat probably pushes that over, though.Bed still looks great and has held up with no issues. We have not noticed any squeaks or creaks. I do recommend tightening up the screws periodically, tho… see more
