So I have owned this bed for about a week now and overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. Like many other buyers on here I was at first hesitant to make a large purchase like a bed frame online without having seen it first in person, but since most of the reviews on here were glowing and raved about it I decided to roll the dice and just pull the trigger on it. Also, the fact that this bed frame is very well-priced made the decision a lot more feasible. It took approximately about a week for the bed frame to arrive since I ordered it shortly after Thanksgiving. It came in 2 shipments and I was extremely satisfied with the packaging. I ordered my bed frame from 24/7 SHOP AT HOME from Amazon and they went above and beyond with ensuring that the packaging was secured. It was wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap, which provided an extreme amount of protection. My roommate also purchased the same bed frame, however he did so from Overstock.com and by comparison their packaging was much poorer. Since they only shipped the bed in the manufacturer's box, it was slightly damaged and torn when it arrived. So seeing how 24/& SHOP AT HOME took the extra effort to wrap the box and protect deserves recognition and praise! Well done!Anyways, as many of the other reviews indicated the assembling of this bed can take awhile. It took me approximately 3-4 hours since I am not very handy and I had to put it together myself. I would recommend assembling it with 2 people, but it is totally feasible to do it by yourself. They provide just enough of the screws and washers, so make sure not to lose any because there won't be any extra ones! However for the wooden planks that support the mattress, they supply a few extra black clips that hold the planks together, so if you break a few of the black clips while trying to install it you can breath easy knowing you'll have a few to spare. So if you're wondering why I only gave this bed frame 4 out of 5 stars instead of the 5 out of 5 it deserves, it's because my bed frame unfortunately came with a slight defect. One of the legs in front of the bed frame could not screw in properly since the metal frame where the screws are to be inserted was slightly blown out and because of that one of the screws could not be inserted properly. Due to this minor defect I had to chip away one star, however it is a quality bed and I would highly recommend it.Read more

For a flat pack furniture item, this bed is surprisingly well made. While there are a lot of steps in putting it together, they are self-explanatory for the most part. The only problem I had, and it was very minor and short-lived, was that the instructions showed that the slats should be completely assembled before snapping them into place. This didn't work for me. Snapping each side in and then joining them in the middle and snapping that down worked perfectly. Two people are better to complete the assembly, but most of it can be done by one person, with the second needed only for the final attachment of the rails to the head/footboard, and that only to make it less of a hassle. The slats are bowed, making the bed higher in the middle than on the edges, and for a standard mattress that is an excellent idea. It does worry me a bit with the 10" thick memory foam mattress I purchased to go with the bed. Time will tell if it causes problems. There are plenty of slats, and they snap into position so they will not slide or allow the mattress to sag. The legs are plastic, but with a very realistic wood grain. I am very picky, but I am satisfied with the look of the materials. The headboard is slightly padded, but not designed for sitting up in bed.On a note completely unrelated to the quality/function of the bed, the name of the company I purchased from is "Furniture of America", and the bed is made in China. The instructions are definitely written by someone with English as their second language. The mistakes don't affect the usefulness of the instructions, they just make the company look foolish. The "leatherette" is thicker than I expected. Most faux leather looks very cheap, but this is nice. The Espresso color is so close to black that I can't tell the difference. Still, it looks good. I would recommend this to a friend.Read more

We had trouble with the slats on the bed popping out, just like some of the other reviewers. I emailed the company and gave them our weights (we are not overweight) and they still said that we may have exceeded the weight limit. Really?? So this bed is only designed for children?? Anyway, we fixed the problem ourselves by buying plywood to put over the top of the slats and now it works just fine. But I don't think we should've had to spend an extra $50 to fix what is obviously a design problem. The company said that we didn't give them a chance to fix the problem, but in the meantime I was waking up to my expensive mattress sagging through a hole made by the slats! BTW, if it really was a problem with exceeding the weight limit, why did it usually only pop out on my side when I'm 8 inches shorter and 75 lbs lighter than my husband? The company had said they would send me some new slats to replace, but they never even bothered doing this. I never write reviews but because of the company's lack of accepting responsibility and fixing the problem, I decided to write this one. Now that it's fixed, it's a very nice looking bed. You just have to be willing to spend the extra money to fix the problem yourself.

I bought this bed for a guest bedroom, which doesn't really see that many visitors since we spend most of the time away from home, and visiting others. I've had this bed for less than a year, It's probably been slept on 3-4 times, and upon moving tonight, when I disassembled it, I noticed that the weld points on the center had become detached by about 50%. I know that this is a mass manufactured unit, but for something to structurally fail within a year from almost no use to me is unacceptable. I haven't contacted the company because it's almost not worth the time, and I want to assure you it is a very good looking bed, I'd just be really careful with your purchase, maybe their manufacturing standards have increased since the time that I bought it, or maybe I got a lemon. Either way, be careful!
