Originally and before even making the purchase I noticed a discrepancy on the listed dimensions. The wide of the drawers and the overall width of the chest just weren't adding up. I called into customer service and the gal that helped me ended up calling the vendor and getting the correct and specific dimensions, which were different than what was listed on the product page. I KNEW it just wasn't adding up right. I'm not sure if it's since been corrected or not, but I very much appreciated on her checking up on that for me. The chest is seemingly good quality. It's open on the bottom, which I wasn't expecting. I can see how it was probably manufactured that way in order to be a lighter weight for shipping. It doesn't take away from the integrity of the chest, it was just unexpected. I expected it to be an enclosed piece. The drawers slide in and function properly - there's just no bottom to the chest underneath the drawers.

This is a very solid chest and we're happy with it. There are two thing that keep me from giving it a five star rating. The drawers are stapled rather than dovetailed. They seem solid enough, but time will tell. Secondly, there's a lot of gray graining in the wood. We had planned to put a clear coating on it, but it didn't look very nice with the gray. We ended up putting a darker stain on it, and it turned out quite lovely. Oh, also, since I was wondering about this myself before making the purchase, I will tell you that the drawer handles can't be replaced easily. They're screwed on, but they're also glued on.
