Beautiful solid wood bed. Definitely need two people to put it together. Took 1.5 hours total with my husband and I working together. Some of the screws were mislabeled but it’s not too hard to figure out the right ones. There’s a lingering wood smell in the bedroom but at least you know it’s real wood!

For the price, I thought this wood frame was an excellent buy. My husband and I assembled this in about 45 minutes. (it helps to have two people when assembling) I would recommend this to others to buy.

I love this bed. It was an absolute nightmare to put together by myself so be warned, but I can't even deduct points for that. Once assembled it's incredibly sturdy and doesn't wobble at all. It's also extremely heavy. I'm a big person and my mattress is thick and heavy, this thing handles it all no problem. Plus it's quite attractive and neutral with a warm feel. Perfect for my room, exactly what I was going for.

Overall I'm happy with this bed. Seems sturdy (and heavy!) and I love the look. I've included photos, which show that even with a low-profile boxspring, a mattress sits quite high, unless your mattress is thinner, of course). My only gripes were with the assembly. I assembled the bed by myself so was challenging, but the issues were that a couple of the instructions were incorrect, including where it said to use one type of fastener (all the types of screws and dowel bits are coded by letter) but it was obviously wrong. Going instead on the diagram and common sense, it was an easy thing to remedy. More frustratingly, the pre-drilled holes on one of the vertical headboard pieces were misaligned so it was necessary to drill a couple of new holes.

It is beautiful and sturdy. A few pieces came with small surface damage, but nothing that you notice when it is assembled. The biggest downside was assembly--none of the pieces came labeled, and the instructions were missing a page. We were able to figure it out pretty easily, though, and anyone who has built furniture before shouldnt have a problem.

I was surprised that I had to completely put this together however, the directions were easy to follow and didn’t take long. It looks good but just so you know there is a layer of some kind of substance, a coating over the wood. So it doesn’t feel like solid wood.

Definitely a 2 person job if you want to get this bed built in an hour or less. Solid construction but watch out as all the pieces come in one box that weighs a lot!

The bed is solid once you are able to navigate the large number of typos on the instructions and the difficulty of putting all the pieces together. I would have given this a 5 star rating if the bed was easier to put together and all the pre-drilled holes were in the correct position. The main board on top of the footboard had two pre-drilled holes in the wrong place and prevented the piece from being secured on both sides, this is my biggest issue. In addition to this, the instructions had several typos in terms of what board or screw you should use. By process of elimination, I was able to figure it out, but realize there are a lot of pieces for this bed. The last issue I had was that many of the pieces did not fit together at first and you really need another set of hands to get pieces to fit together. Once assembled the bed is solid and sturdy, but getting to this point will take time and patience.

I ordered the espresso color, and it looked quite different in person than it does on the website. It is more of a medium than dark brown, and the wood grain markings are very prominent. It seems to be good quality and sturdy, so nothing negative to say on that end.

I have ordered a number of furniture items from Wayfair and put them together myself with relative ease. Unfortunately, this product was a nightmare to move from the lobby of my apartment building to my apartment and also a nightmare to put together. The packaging was wildly bulky and near impossible to move. The headboard is impossible to put together as the slats are uneven and do not flush, making it impossible to line up the slats with the bolt holes. The measurements for where to put the horizontal panels for the mattress were also wrong in the instruction - if you put them every 30" there isn't enough space to fit four of them.

Have no idea the quality of this product. I paid roughly 90 dollars for a company contracted through Wayfair (Handy) to assemble the bed frame. Handy scheduled me an appointment and never showed up or didn’t even have the courtesy to call. I made this appointment because prior reviews on this product talked about the difficulty of putting the bed frame together. I’m not sure if it’s Handy or Wayfair who dropped the ball but neither did any favors for this product. My recommendation is to avoid paying extra for assembly.

Hardwoods

Hardwood wood varieties refer to the type of tree the wood is taken from; it has nothing to do with how heavy or dense the wood is (contrary to popular belief!). Hardwood woods are sourced from trees that have leaves and lose their leaves in the winter months. Types of hardwood trees include hickory, maple, oak, birch and cherry (among others). Wood from hardwood trees is usually harder and therefore more dense, as these trees tend to grow at a slower rate. Hardwood is ideal for use in indoor furniture crafting, as it is sturdy and durable. Most hardwood varieties are bright and beautiful in their natural tone/shade, but many take well to staining, finishes and paints. Walnut wood bed frames look incredible when paired with neutral toned fabrics and simple textiles, such as an off-white or muted blue color palette.

Espresso Wood

When talking about coffees, espresso is the strong black one. In furniture and woods, it is actually somewhat similar to that. Espresso is a deep, dark brown color, so dark that it is sometimes mistaken to be jet black when, in fact, it stands between the two colors. If you want your bed to look elegant, go for espresso wood. It will also appear neat because dark color can magically tuck away dirt and dust. When under direct lighting, espresso gives out red hues. Cabinets, tables, and shelves that are in espresso sell more than those in light colors because many people opt for a traditional and classic look. Because of its neutral color, espresso is very versatile. It can go well with any home color scheme and design style. Since it's not black and definitely not a bright color, espresso can be pleasing and gentle to the feeling and to the eyes. It can also make you feel relaxed because of its soothing and coffee-like color, perfect after a long day at work.

Espresso may also be your favorite drink! You will definitely wake up feeling energized just by seeing your bed.
