This is very sturdy and my daughter loves it. It is well built and it did not take long to put it together. I would say it is much easier if you have two people to put it together.

Exactly what I was looking for, using as a guest bed and it is solid construction and quality. Took a bit to put together, other than that, I'm happy with the purchase.

It lasted me 4-5 years. Sadly as kids grew the metal began bending as well. Not suitable for older adults. The wheels on the trundle were ok but kept scraping the wood floor deeply. It was useful for the time. I would say best for smaller children.

Bought this for when my mother comes to visit and she thought it was great. My youngest likes to sleep in the same room with her when she visits, so the trundle is perfect.

This package came OPEN on both ends with a notification that it was “damaged”!! It was delivered anyway—as is! I’m very upset that I can’t set it up for a couple of months, so I won’t know immediately what the problem is.

Does the trundle part pull up to the bed part and then go down?
No....the bottom is basically just a framed support on wheels. But, I was pleased to see that it is low enough to hold a nice mattress, not just one of the "bunk bed" thin type.

Does the trundle part pull up to the bed part and then go down?
No, it has wheels and just rolls out or if you wish away from the other bed.

Does the trundle part pull up to the bed part and then go down?
No, the trundle doesn't raise.

Does the trundle part pull up to the bed part and then go down?
I put a 9" memory foam mattress on my trundle & there was still plenty of clearance to pull it out. Trundle is very sturdy but takes a while to put together. Well worth the price. If you want to pay extra & purchase a pop up trundle it should work with the daybed & you'd end up with a king size bed. I'm VERY pleased with the daybed.

I'm putting the bed together and wondering if people put the nice smoother sides of the side rails on the inside or outside? The picture above shows both the inside and outside as being the same, when in reality there is clearly a nice side and an uglier side (with welding showing and where the center piece that looks like wicker is connected. Sort of like a fence when most people put the ugly side facing their property. Right now I have the ugly sides facing out because I think the inside will be more visible to anyone who goes in the room. I wish the instructions would show those details. Maybe it's user preference.
I think the nice sides are on the outside.

Thanks. That's funny... I put them on the inside. The back piece was soldered half on the front side and half on the back side so no matter which way you attach it, half will look nice and smooth and half will have solder blobs on it.

I put the nice sides on the outside. Once you put the mattress and bedding on, you really can't notice it.

I put the welded side to the inside because I have throw pillows on the bed.

What mattress has everyone bought to fit the 71" wide trundle? Most twin mattresses are 75. I want a memory foam one but can't seem to find one that is 71" wide.
Please use a standard size twin mattress that is 74-75 inches long and 37 1/2-38 1/2 inches wide. Please see images in image carousel for appearance of trundle with a standard size twin.

How thick of a mattress can you use on the trundle bed and still have it fit under the day bed?
The trundle lays flat on the ground, but on wheels, so you have a good 12 inches or 11 to play it safe. Don't think you'd need that much, but that's how much I could measure from the trundle to the bottom of the top bed. Hope that helps.

How thick of a mattress can you use on the trundle bed and still have it fit under the day bed?
I just bought an 8 in mattress and there's still room for at least a 10 in one. I think once you put bedding on a 12 in you wouldn't have room to put the trundle back under the bed.

I purchased a 6" mattress and with sheets and two blankets there is some room between but not a lot.

I put a 9" memory foam mattress on mine & there's still plenty of space above it to easily roll it in & out.

What is the weight of the bed itself? Is it sturdy enough for adults...also...is is pure white?
The top says it will hold up to 400lbs, and bottom up to 225lbs.. the color is an off white, so more of a cream color..

The bed is definitely sturdy enough for adults. The color is still pretty close to white even though it says off white. I think it's a beautiful color and matches well with anything. I have back, hip, and left elbow problems so I am limited to the amount of weight I can lift. I was able to put this bed together and move it without a lot of problems. I would say it probably weighs between 15-25 lbs. I highly recommend getting this bed! I plan on purchasing another for my daughters room :)

Where can I find a twin mattress to fit the dimensions of the bombay daybed? ( 74-75 length is no problem; but the 37.5-38.5 width is a problem as most twin mattresses are 39 width)

Is this a pop up trundle?
No Pop Up. Makes out into 2 separate, twin size beds, but trundle is only a few inches high-- NOT equal or next to other twin. And its on casters,so pulls out and slips under other bed easily.Great for storage for dorm rm or small bedroom.

Is this a pop up trundle?
No the trundle slides out from under the main twin. It's great on carpet but on hardwood floors you need rubber pads to put under the rollers, as the locks are worthless, to keep the trundle from sliding all over. All in all the grandkids and I like the bed.

Twin

A Twin bed also referred to as a single bed is one of the smallest bed in the market with a dimension of 38’’ by 75’’. Its compact size makes it ideal for single sleepers may it be children or an adult living in a small space such as a studio apartment. It’s an affordable and versatile bed set up for various sleepers such as toddlers and college student in the dorm. For over several decades it has been one of the most popular beds among college students and young children in their early teens as you can find it in most of their bedrooms, however in this modern age where people are seeking for more comfort and space, the popularity of twin beds is been over taken by queen size beds. Despite being great for growing children it’s also very flexible and versatile especially if you are trying to maximize the space in your bedroom.

Bronze

A bronze bed brings about that bronze accent into your bedroom creating one fascinating bedroom environment. A bronze bed brings about a stunning accent similar to that of a bedroom with a silver or gold bed since these are some of the most luxurious accents you can add into your bedroom. Also note that as you already know a bronze bed will bring out that luxurious feel in to bedroom space due to its status, and that’s why it’s one of the most sort after bed decorations. Bronze being one of the latest color trends when it comes to bedroom decorations makes your bedroom feel even more stylish and luxurious, since it’s an excellent color to decorate your bedroom with. Plus there is no better way to do it than with a bronze colored bed. A bronze bed adds a soft glow and a more formal look to your bedroom.

Brown

Even though brown is not the most obvious color to use when decorating your bedroom. A Brown bed’s warmth nook makes it worth incorporating in to your bedroom. And the fact that you would never expect to see a brown bed or bedroom décor makes it perfect for anyone who loves experimenting on colors and doesn’t like using playful pastels and bright neon’s. To avoid it from being swallowed into the dark bedroom interior, it’s recommended to be used in a bedroom with bright interior colors that bring about more lighting, which is a rich tone up especially to the brown bed and in the process creating another element intrigue. A brown bed is the only way to tone down a bright bedroom interior without having to repaint the walls.

Off-White

When choosing a bed color you should always take into consideration what color psychology has to say about sleep. For example with an Off-white bed, you should know that Off-white is a sleep conducive color that can be used to promote a positive energy flow. Comparing Off-white with White you will definitely note that Off-white is not as bright as White and as a result it does not stimulate unwanted excitement at a time when you should be calm, plus off-white is all about complementing your bedroom décor rather than contrasting. Since contrasting is all about stimulating your brain and keeping you awake. Off-white is a natural soft color that’s not overly stimulating or overly pigmented and that’s why I would suggest choosing an off-white bed especially if you have a dull bedroom since this color will bring liveliness into your bedroom.

White

A white bed is definitely a show stopper, it’s plain and simple. Despite people referring to white as lack of other colors, a white bed makes quite a statement. It gives your bedroom space a more open and timeless feel, while allowing your bedroom décor to standout even more clearly. A bed with a pure shade of white energizes your entire space giving it a vibrant new look, giving you the illusion of a more light within your bedroom. What makes a white bed a favorite for many is the fact that white as a color creates a relaxing sleep environment. And as you know choosing the right color is very important, since color is like magic and can influence your state of mind and emotions. If there is one thing you should do right is get yourself a white bed and enjoy every single moment you spend in your bedroom.

Daybed

Worried about having a small living space where a full-size bed and a couch wouldn't fit? Thanks be to furniture designers and makers for creating a solution in the form of daybeds. Great for tiny areas, daybeds can be placed anywhere and double as both a sofa and a bed. It can easily be moved when you're cleaning your room or you just want to try a different layout.

Perfect for teens and adults, have you thought that toddlers can also benefit from a daybed? It consumes less space than a bunk bed and can prevent the risk of the children falling and hurting from a two-level bed. Oftentimes, daybeds feature a trundle or a pull-out bed, which increases sleeping capacity, so you don't have to fret if someone wants to sleep over. Adding to its functionality and versatility is its built-in cabinets. This extra storage space is really suitable to maximize space.

Kids

The home is the training ground for children. It's where they learn and cultivate their values and character. So as a parent or a guardian, you play a big role in who they will become. Allow them to be themselves, to explore what they like, and to play with their imagination. Actually, you can start with their bedroom. How? Ask them what wall color they like. If you have an extra budget for a custom-made bed, ask your little one how he would like for it to look like. A car? A train? A spaceship? A dollhouse? Or if you can, build the bed yourself! It can be a great bonding time for you and your kids.

A kid's bed can also be space-saving with its built-in drawers, which can be a way to tidy up their toys and books. Beds with bedside table, where your child(ren) can study and play with papers and crayons, are also available in the market. Of course, kids love to play. Make bedtime fun with tent beds, beds with slide, and house-shaped kids' beds! Surely, your youngster will enjoy both his waking and sleeping hours.

Casters

In case you are looking for a bed that can easily move from one point to another, get yourself a bed made with a caster or install caster features. Casters make your bed look elegant. Caster is a unique feature that is used in bed to enable easy movement. They are durable and friendly to your floor. One can easily install them without the need for expert help. To install plate-mount casters, simply position the caster, mark the mounting holes, and drill them. Then, attach the caster with nuts, bolts, and washers. Bed designed with caster come in different sizes for one to choose. They are suitable for everyone in your family be it old or young and can be adjusted to user need or requirements.

Metal

One of the most asked question when it comes metallic beds is, are they safe for younger children? And the answer is always, yes they are. One of reason to why metal beds have grown in popularity over the last couple of years is the fact that they require less maintenance since as we all know metal does not dent or scratch easily making it even a more attractive option as compared to wooden and plastic beds. When it comes to durability also metal beds are currently the most durable beds in the market more durable than the wooden beds and would even handle more weight than a wooden bed frame. Metal beds are also highly portable since they are lighter than other types of bed, and in case you are the kind of person who love rearranging their bedroom setup you will definitely love the metal bed.

Single Material

When you need to kick back and unwind on your own, you need a single-material bed. Single-material beds are an excellent choice for anyone that likes simplicity and practicality. Without combining materials, you get a clean and uniform looking bed that will match any bedroom. The con of a single-material bed is that they won’t stand out as much as other beds, but this can also be a pro as well, as it means they’ll easily blend into any room and not take attention away from other features that are nearby. The single-material is recommended if you’re after a bed for a minimalist setting, something that looks very simple and neutral - then you’re going to be satisfied by the single-material bed. Single-material beds also look great when you have two separate beds in the same room - the single-material look really gives the room a strong, matching and consistent appearance.

Traditional

It's hard to go past a traditional bed. They're traditional for a reason, after all. Comforting and nostalgic, these beds are an excellent choice for homes and bedrooms that just need a simple, classic bed. Highly recommended for childrens beds, or as a bed for guests - they're the choice for when you don't want or need the bed to stand out. When you need a bed that just works and gets the job done - you're going to want to consider a traditional bed. This style of bed has lasted the test of time, and for good reason - they're the true soldier of the bedding room, always ready to get what needs to be done, done. The traditional bed is easy to maintain, you just wipe it down with some warm water and a dry it off with a towel. The simplicity of this bed and how easy it is to clean make the traditional bed your first choice for any time where you need a standard bed that won’t become the main attraction in a room.

Beds

A bed can be referred as a piece of furniture which is used as a place to fall asleep and relax. In this modern age beds consist of a soft cushioned mattress and a bed frame, the mattress is usually resting on a sprung base, solid base, or a wood slats. Beds come in different sizes ranging from infant-sized cribs to small beds that can just accommodate one person, to large king and queen sized beds designed for two or more people. Most bed are usually a single mattress and a fixed frame, however there are other varieties such as a sofa bed, which folds out of a sofa or a murphy bed that folds in to a wall. Other beds can be referred as temporary beds as they contain neither a bedframe nor a mattress, a good example is the inflatable air mattress or the folding camp cot.
