I had a nice used Queen headboard and footboard from a sleigh bed that was missing the rails. These rails were very affordable and worked out perfectly for this project.

Perfect, just what was needed. Glad to have found it as most stores sell the bolt on frames. And it's much sturdier than the older one, I been usiing for 20+ years.

The bed frames came in on time as scheduled and we’ll packaged. The frames at good quality and strong. The hook ends didn’t quite match the area where they were to latch onto the headboard and footboard so I had to modify.

Good hardened steel rails. Problem is the end cleats dont exactly work with the old antique bed head and foot boards! Glad I had the old cleats off the wood rails for a template! Used the grinder and files to shape the new cleats to fit the head and foot boards. Now to mount the new wood to the steel rails and match the stain! New and old should make this bed last another century or so!!!

The hooks are too large to fit into my headboard and footboard. I don’t know if my bed is non-standard, or if it’s a problem with the rails? The rails themselves seem to be of good quality, but the hooks are think and deep.

It won’t work because1. there will be no center support. The supports that come with these rails are thick wires that hook onto the side rails and span the gap. They will only accommodate a twin width.2. the rails themselves are 75 inches long. They cannot accommodate a mattress longer than that because these rails hook into a headboard and a footboard.

Could this be used to fit onto a twin metal daybed? Thanks!!
It can if the metal daybed is a hook on design. However, this isnt a link spring, so you would need a bunkie board or a solid surface to place the mattress on it. A link spring is usually what is used for daybed set ups.

Twin

A Twin bed also referred to as a single bed is one of the smallest bed in the market with a dimension of 38’’ by 75’’. Its compact size makes it ideal for single sleepers may it be children or an adult living in a small space such as a studio apartment. It’s an affordable and versatile bed set up for various sleepers such as toddlers and college student in the dorm. For over several decades it has been one of the most popular beds among college students and young children in their early teens as you can find it in most of their bedrooms, however in this modern age where people are seeking for more comfort and space, the popularity of twin beds is been over taken by queen size beds. Despite being great for growing children it’s also very flexible and versatile especially if you are trying to maximize the space in your bedroom.
