I am so happy with this bed. It is great looking and and the wood finish is beautiful. It was easy to put together, even for one person. I am glad that I looked at other reviews before I bought the mattress set for the bed. I ended up going with just the bunky board and am glad that I did. Even a low profile box spring would have made the bed a little too high. I normally don't take the time to write reviews but I was so happy with the bed and so appreciative of the other reviewers who commented on the height of the bed and for their suggestions that I thought I would share my experience as well for anyone else who is considering it. I would recommend this bed.

good solid bed frame. I added some slats of my own for support but I love how it looks and it was simple to put together. I also have moved it a couple times and its easy to pop the headboard off and on to move it

The quality of the bed is excellent. Looks expensive and love the color of the wood. It was easy to assemble and is a beautiful espresso color , not too dark and not too light. It not that almost black color. It's more of a cherry brown. Very contemporary and stylish.

First one came with a split/crack in the headboard. I was so disappointed, but overstock. Sent another headboard. Within 2 weeks. I bought a euro box spring and regular mattress and it's still very high off the ground, but I like it! Not so sure my 82 yr old mom will get into the bed when she visits, may need a step stool. I'm 5 foot 6. Not a problem for me. The picture shows no box spring. Which is deceiving. Cause when you read the q&a. They say box spring needed. Euro

The bed is very sturdy. The frame sits a little higher than i expected, but the prices and ease of assembling it, makes it worth it. Next time i would buy the whole set together

it is a low profile bed. however a beding box is needed to hold matress. this makes the bed useless. too high to put together. be cautious! for me, i have to buy a hard wood slate and cut into small ones and screw onto the bed to support mattress directly. if you don't want to do such, go for another one!

Not really a platform bed, you will need to reinforce the bottom supports if you want to use this be. We put in two extra supports, but it still didn't seem sufficient. We ended up placing plywood across the bottom to provide support. Much better now.

Beautiful bed. The only problem are the slats. Put this together, only to have problems placing the mattress on the bad. The foundation doesn't support the slats. It would be advantageous if the maker redesigned the slats.

If this bedside signed for mattress and box spring, why does the picture look like its one mattress? I'm very confused about these platform beds

If this bedside signed for mattress and box spring, why does the picture look like its one mattress? I'm very confused about these platform beds
Box springs come in different heights. A standard box spring is 8 inches high. A low profile or euro box spring is 4-5 inches high. A bunkyboard or superpallet can be as little as 2 inches high. The bed in the picture was likely photographed with a bunkyboard or superpallet, not a standard box spring.

If I were to buy more slats, how wide would they need to be (I don't know if the 57"W shown is the frame's inside or outside dimension). Thanks.
The slats are 54 inches wide.

Does the bed come with slats? Support legs? Thanks.
The answer is yes, this bed comes with 3 bed slats, each with an adjustable center support leg. It is designed for use with a foundation and mattress. We recommend a low profile or euro box spring, which are typically 4-5 inches tall, but a standard 8 inch box spring will also work.

A bit similar to a platform bed, a regular bed also consists of a bed frame, mostly metal, and a mattress. However, for this type, a box spring is needed underneath the mattress since a regular traditional frame doesn't have slats to provide enough support for the mattress. In addition, a box spring is a bed base comprises of a wooden frame containing metal grid or springs and wrapped in fabric. Because of the box spring, a regular bed is usually higher than a platform bed, making it gentler for your knees and reducing the risk of injury. The mattress on a regular bed, moreover, can last long since the base helps distribute your body weight evenly, protecting it from shock and being saggy. When you need to kick back and unwind on your own, you need a single-material bed. Single-material beds are an excellent choice for anyone that likes simplicity and practicality. Without combining materials, you get a clean and uniform looking bed that will match any bedroom. The con of a single-material bed is that they won’t stand out as much as other beds, but this can also be a pro as well, as it means they’ll easily blend into any room and not take attention away from other features that are nearby. The single-material is recommended if you’re after a bed for a minimalist setting, something that looks very simple and neutral - then you’re going to be satisfied by the single-material bed. Beds

A bed can be referred as a piece of furniture which is used as a place to fall asleep and relax. In this modern age beds consist of a soft cushioned mattress and a bed frame, the mattress is usually resting on a sprung base, solid base, or a wood slats. Beds come in different sizes ranging from infant-sized cribs to small beds that can just accommodate one person, to large king and queen sized beds designed for two or more people. Most bed are usually a single mattress and a fixed frame, however there are other varieties such as a sofa bed, which folds out of a sofa or a murphy bed that folds in to a wall. Other beds can be referred as temporary beds as they contain neither a bedframe nor a mattress, a good example is the inflatable air mattress or the folding camp cot.

Hardwoods

Hardwood wood varieties refer to the type of tree the wood is taken from; it has nothing to do with how heavy or dense the wood is (contrary to popular belief!). Hardwood woods are sourced from trees that have leaves and lose their leaves in the winter months. Types of hardwood trees include hickory, maple, oak, birch and cherry (among others). Wood from hardwood trees is usually harder and therefore more dense, as these trees tend to grow at a slower rate. Hardwood is ideal for use in indoor furniture crafting, as it is sturdy and durable. Most hardwood varieties are bright and beautiful in their natural tone/shade, but many take well to staining, finishes and paints. The hardwood varieties offer a cozy, warm look and enrich your bedroom style. Hardwood bed frames are a great way to brighten your bedroom and enhance the overall look and feel of your sleep space!

Mahogany

Mahogany wood is an extremely strong and durable wood variety derived from mahogany hardwood trees. With its beautiful, rich cherry color, mahogany wood furniture is a more traditional style choice. Mahogany wood bedroom furniture will enhance the coziness of your sleep space and will promote a soothing, restful environment. It’s a great choice for bedroom furniture, as mahogany is very sturdy, and the craftsmanship of these furniture pieces is often ornate and distinctive, and typically include thoughtful and timeless finishing details. Mahogany is a heavier wood, so it’s best to assemble bedroom furniture with another person. Once assembled, mahogany wood furniture is extremely durable and strong, so you can rest assured that your furniture piece will withstand time and use. Mahogany wood pairs especially well with a warm red color palette, and will make your bedroom a cozy, inviting space.

Oak

If you’re looking for a way to refurbish your sleep space, purchasing an oak bed should be at the top of your to-do list! Oak is a classic, refined and traditional wood finish that is simply gorgeous. A natural oak finish is typically a warm cherry brown color; however, oak takes to staining quite well. This allows you to change up the look of your furniture to match your ever-changing style and design preferences. The simple grain patterns in oak wood are beautiful and understated; this gives you a timeless look for your bedroom that you’re sure to love for years to come. Oak is heavier than some of the other wood varieties, so assembly of any bedroom furniture is best if there are two or more people. Once properly assembled, oak furniture enhances the coziness of your bedroom and can add a rustic flair to your design motif.

Espresso Wood

When talking about coffees, espresso is the strong black one. In furniture and woods, it is actually somewhat similar to that. Espresso is a deep, dark brown color, so dark that it is sometimes mistaken to be jet black when, in fact, it stands between the two colors. If you want your bed to look elegant, go for espresso wood. It will also appear neat because dark color can magically tuck away dirt and dust. When under direct lighting, espresso gives out red hues. Cabinets, tables, and shelves that are in espresso sell more than those in light colors because many people opt for a traditional and classic look. Because of its neutral color, espresso is very versatile. It can go well with any home color scheme and design style. Since it's not black and definitely not a bright color, espresso can be pleasing and gentle to the feeling and to the eyes. It can also make you feel relaxed because of its soothing and coffee-like color, perfect after a long day at work.

Espresso may also be your favorite drink! You will definitely wake up feeling energized just by seeing your bed.
