Seems like a solid bed. The paint job could be better, there were several spots where it's light and you can see the knots in the wood. Worried this won't hold up over time. Considering this is a kid's bed I would like it to be more durable.

Bed was easy to assemble and perfect for our 2 year old. The only complain I have is that one rail was already chipping off straight out of the box.

I didn't pay much for this bed since it was on sale, but I did expect a little more. The slats in the headboard and footboard don't fully reach the top so the smaller part that fits into the top shows. The slats that hold the mattress are rough and seem weaker than I would expect. And the weight limit is only 200lbs so I'm not sure how much longer I or my husband can snuggle with my toddler on it before we max out. For now it it'll work for us, but we'll definitely need to get a sturdier bed as my toddler grows into a big kid.

The screw holes in the footboard are exposed and the nuts shine against the dark stain like a beacon. There are 8 glaring half inch holes staring out at the room. Not talking about the 2 beveled screw heads that are supposed to show; talking about the nuts that should be hidden. I would send it back if it weren't 8 feet long and 50 pounds and need to be disassembled. Also, they put stickers on the wood with part numbers and warnings - the glue doesn't come off, so you can either have "warning 200 pound limit", a sticky spot, or damage to the finish where you dissolved the glue with a solvent.

Beds

In this modern age beds consist of a soft cushioned mattress and a bed frame, the mattress is usually resting on a sprung base, solid base, or a wood slats. Beds come in different sizes ranging from infant-sized cribs to small beds that can just accommodate one person, to large king and queen sized beds designed for two or more people. Most bed are usually a single mattress and a fixed frame, however there are other varieties such as a sofa bed, which folds out of a sofa or a murphy bed that folds in to a wall. Hardwoods

Hardwood wood varieties refer to the type of tree the wood is taken from; it has nothing to do with how heavy or dense the wood is (contrary to popular belief!). Hardwood woods are sourced from trees that have leaves and lose their leaves in the winter months. Types of hardwood trees include hickory, maple, oak, birch and cherry (among others). Wood from hardwood trees is usually harder and therefore more dense, as these trees tend to grow at a slower rate. Hardwood is ideal for use in indoor furniture crafting, as it is sturdy and durable. Most hardwood varieties are bright and beautiful in their natural tone/shade, but many take well to staining, finishes and paints. Espresso Wood

When talking about coffees, espresso is the strong black one. In furniture and woods, it is actually somewhat similar to that. Espresso is a deep, dark brown color, so dark that it is sometimes mistaken to be jet black when, in fact, it stands between the two colors. If you want your bed to look elegant, go for espresso wood. It will also appear neat because dark color can magically tuck away dirt and dust. When under direct lighting, espresso gives out red hues. Cabinets, tables, and shelves that are in espresso sell more than those in light colors because many people opt for a traditional and classic look. Because of its neutral color, espresso is very versatile. It can go well with any home color scheme and design style. Since it's not black and definitely not a bright color, espresso can be pleasing and gentle to the feeling and to the eyes. It can also make you feel relaxed because of its soothing and coffee-like color, perfect after a long day at work.

Espresso may also be your favorite drink! You will definitely wake up feeling energized just by seeing your bed.
