The platform bed is pretty and adds value to my room. Assembly was pretty straightforward and only a scewdriver was needed. A mallet or hammer will be useful for affixing the slats to the rails. I pushed the box up one flight of carpeted stairs and it was an 8/10 in difficulty with 1 being a piece of cake and 10 a Sisyphean ordeal. Two would be better if you are taking it up a flight of stairs. All assembly can be done by one person. Took me about an hour and a half of assembly time with abokutely no rushing whatsoever.Tuck the sheets under the mattress to realize the platform look. When all parts are fully assembled, the bed finally seems sturdy. I'm happy with my purchase.

this is an excellent and stylish bed -- and i actually bought two!........best thing about it is, it appears to "float". that gives it a very modern, clean look. this is because the supports are deep enough under the frame that you don't see them, although they are extensive and there. this was great for the bedrooms i put the beds in because they were not that large. this bed -- which is barely an inch wider than the mattress that sits on top of it -- does not waste any room with frou frou or unecessary ornamentation. it is simply clean, lean design and it works perfectly if you want a minimalistic but still luxe look. it's interesting that some of the reviews said it had a kids room look. i think the white melamine surface may not be the most expensive-looking finish, but once the whole bed is put together and with cool linens, the bed does look sophisticated......... assembly is not that difficult but it does take maybe an hour to an hour and a half. i put one bed together solo and carefully. (no one was home to help haha!). you do indeed need to be careful and methodical. there are i.e., two screws which look exactly the same for length. if you use the longer one where it says use the shorter one, you will punch through the wood. (i know... b/c i did that by accident, oops. thank heavens home depot sells melamine repair tape which i used to cover the hole perfectly with an innocuous white line of melamine tape. the repair looks simply like part of the original design!).........you do also have to be a little careful once the bed is made. the surface can chip easily and if i.e., you bang it too hard with a vacuum while trying to clean under the bed, i almost bet you that you will chip it. both beds came with teeny tiny knicks just from packaging and transport. i wasn't too pleased with that but it wasn't awful enough to be horrified with. one bed did arrive with broken support beams. the company (in canada) sent replacements -- of the wrong parts. then they sent the right parts, but i had the bed unpacked for a good 2.5 weeks waiting for replacement parts.........once you put it together it definitely goods a good wipe down with a slightly damp cloth. there is wood dust all over the pieces (pressboard). i also put shelf liner on the outermost mattress support boards, because they still have a somewhat dusty and raw edge, and i didn't want my mattress or sheets snagged or made dusty. the shelf liner (go to bed bath and beyond!) also adds a very clean touch.........all the pieces you need to make the bed are here. you only need to supply the tools and manpower. ........i think this is actually a great bed for the money and will probably buy a third!........ ///// ........ last six photos show... 1) this is the shelf liner we put down on the two sides of the bed. just basic nice clean sleek vinyl, to cover the somewhat dusty slats, which have slightly rough edges which i believe will pull on fine sheets. 2) the next two photos show, after about 3 months use and very careful vacuuming (if you try to vacuum under the bed with an upright, you will probably bang the frame a little), slight chips that i knew would happen to the melamine from basic wear and tear. it's still not a deal breaker for me, as when it gets really bad i will just use iron-on white melamine repair tape to make a whole new strip on the bottom to cover things if it gets unsightly... 3) last two photos. i did end up putting melamine repair tape along the bottom because it was getting more and more chips. the repair tape is very simply to apply -- line it up straight (i taped it up in a few sections to hold it steady), then go across with a hot iron to heat and release adhesive. the repair tape certainly works well. and i'm sure it will be something i apply a new strip of every few months! again-- i like the style and price of the bed enough that the melamine chipping isn't a deal breaker, but if they're going to re-think this, a slightly better material with some better long-term wear would be a good idea.LONG-TERM UPDATE (apr 2016)so we've had these bed for a year now and they have certainly been strong and sturdy since then, with a variety of guests of every size and weight sleeping in them. for a pressboard item, they are so far solid and relatively durable!after we previously repaired chips on the sides with melamine tape, i think the repair tape is stronger than the original melamine because it hasn't chipped at all! whew...!when we first bought the frames, as mentioned, we also covered the outermost slats with shelf liner because even after wiping all the slats down with a damp cloth they still had a sawdusty-film to it. and also, the pressboard itself it scratchy and rough, and we thought it would probably pull on good / fine / delicate sheets. well... we were right about this. we just put on new and pretty expensive mattress covers (over a hundred dollar each!) that encapsulates the mattress entirely. and when we put the mattress back down on the slats and moved it into position, the rough boards immediately snagged the cover and made multiple pulls / runs in it. ugh!not that i really had the time... but i figure ok i'm going to cover all the slats now. this time, decided to use contact paper with the sticky back. it involved removed the slats, slapping the contact paper on them, and we also put it on the front and foot support bars on the interior of the bed frame so the particle board didn't "peek out" and look cheap it probably took 1.5 hours per bed to cover the slats this way. again, not really my ideal way to spend a sunday... but i'm happier to have covered them and actually, now have the frames look a little more high end. plus, it does make the mattress much easier to move, when we ie move it to vacuum in between the slats! if you want a small project... this is it. not fun, but i think a good investment of time to make the bed even better. i think the manufacturer though, should simply supply melamine-clad boards for the supports. it's an inexpensive material and i bet people would pay for it. not to mention it would simply make the whole piece of furniture look better even if you don't see the support beams every day. Pros: clean style, well price, very simply but contemporary modern appearanceCons: white melamine surface chips easily

Bought for our 14 year old daughter. She picked it out. We were concerned about the quality and based upon other reviews we were expecting some damage when it arrived. It arrived perfectly in tact, packed extremely well! Took about 1 hour to put together and it looks great!! Will have to be careful while vacuuming around it but our daughter loves it and it looks great in her room. It looks like a quality bed.

You can count on sweet dreams with this comfy platform bed. I bought the bed for my daughter's room, which was stuck in the '90s. Now my daughter has a contemporary bed that makes a dramatic statement for a teenager. The bed doesn't take up much room, yet is still comfortable for two people on those occasional sleepovers. The best part is the bed was easy to assemble and is durable. No more worries about replacing box springs. Plus, the white color gives the illusion of more space.

I purchased this futon for my son and he says it is perfect for his new apartment. I had the opportunity to go visit my son this summer and slept on the futon. was every bit as comfortable as my bed at home!

Assembled the bed by myself in about 3 hours, so its definitely possible. Two pieces were scuffed up from shipping, but luckily they were in places that were not highly visible. Overall, Im satisfied with my purchase. This was for a college apartment, and for the price, Id say it was a good deal.

It's a pressboard bed, so hard to be 5 stars--mostly because you can see a little bet of the pressboard base underneath it from certain angles. But it's sturdy and went together quickly. My only challenge was the we put it on a hardwood floor and it slid all around due to the plastic nail-in feet that attach. I ordered a dozen rubber replacement feet and now it stays put.

Stock images are a bit misleading, the frame kind of levitates. Customer pictures are more accurate, but while i looked through the design was very different, as far as slats etc. Still a pretty solid bed, pretty easy to put together

This bed is very nice, but I would recommend getting a thin mattress with straight edges. The rounded edges of our deep fit mattress doesn't fill the space in the corners of the frame and is a bit oversized for the platform part.

Really beautiful! Only bad part is I think we need a drill for about 6 screws we haven't gotten around to buying one so the panels under the mattress kind of wobble when we move, other than that it looks amazing.

This is a very contemporary bed with a simple, sleek design. Looks great!I would definitely give packaging one star if I had the option to. Part of the box was blatantly open; but luckily, the bed was in good condition. Also, please note that the wooden slats that form the platform are near the top of the bed frame. So if you are looking to achieve the low profile look for your bed, you should have a lower height mattress. My mattress is 12 inches so the overall height of the bed + mattress is a bit higher than I would have liked.

Looks cool BUT... There was a big crack on one of the pieces when I got it but luckily it was on the inner side so you can't see it when put together. Wood is cheap low quality stuff. Surface cracks every where you put a screw in. This is made worse by the fact that not all holes where you have to put a screw in line up perfectly There were a few errors in the assembly instructions (one step says there's 14 wooden slats and next step says there's 15). Yes this is a cheap bed, but I think it's still overpriced for what it's worth. You can get higher quality stuff at a lower price at IKEA.

The photos of this bed are deceiving. It is not as low as it appears and does not touch the ground. It floats about 4 inches from the floor. This is ok for some, but not what I wanted or was expecting. I've left it there for a few days to see if it will grow on me...but definitely going to have to take the entire thing apart and send back.
