So we realized going into this that this isn’t high quality wood, BUT for the price, the weight, density, look, ability to be customized to whatever you want you absolutely cannot beat the price. We wiped the wood down, stained and then my husband put 2 coats of polyurethane and in no time we are enjoying it. Assembly was super easy. Nothing was broken or damaged on our set. The lower shelf had a little portion of the corner that was kind of pushed in but my husband sanded it and it looked fine. I looked for a while trying to find “the” coffee table and due to the price and ability to make it look how we wanted we chose this. We are more than pleased with this purchase.

I had seen other reviews on this square coffee table and I knew it was exactly what I was looking for! It is so heavy, well made, very solid. Its not one solid piece of wood straight from a tree, its man made composite, but very well done, super chunky which is what I was looking for. The best part is that its raw wood, so I stained the top and clear coated the entire thing after the stain was dry, love the look, love the lower shelf for pillows and throws or books, just a great piece for the money.

Based on the reviews, I decided to take the gamble and couldn't be more pleased with this table. I do have some wood-working skills and factoring the time it would take to complete a similar table was definitely something I considered. It's very well made and extremely simple to assemble. For those of you that are questioning the price vs. the quality, you won't be disappointed. In summary, I would definitely purchase from this company again.

A solid & sturdy table. Sanded to very smooth. I'll probably just put a clear coat on it.Note that the leg holes for the bottom shelf are very, very small. I did not see them until someone pointed them out to me. Also, IMHO, the screws provided for the bottom shelf are a bit undersized.

All in all I love this table. It was very well packaged and all of the parts were included. It was easy to assemble. The only issue so far is that there was a chip that came off of one side. I don't know if it came this way or if I did the damage myself, but I felt I had to deduct a star for this. The chip came off cleanly so I'm going to use wood glue to re-attach it before I paint the table. It's very nice looking and I've already had compliments as is. The wood grain would be lovely for staining, but I'm going to paint it and I'll show pictures after as well.

The size and the fact that it is made of wood was important, although I did not realize it is made of finger joints. In spite of that fact, it appears to be well made. My biggest complaint is that I called customer service re. the type of wood and what steps should be taken to prepare the table for staining. I did not hear back. I do not want to attempt to stain the wood without getting the answers to my important questions. I don't want to stain it UNSUCCESSFULLY...DON'T WANT TO CONDUCT AN ACT OF FUTILITY! I would much prefer staining the piece over painting because paint is susceptible to chipping and/or scratching of the finish. I have not put the table together...will not do so until I finish the parts.

Bought this as a Christmas gift. After assembly we started sanding so we could stain and a big piece of one of the legs chipped away. We glued and clamped with repair materials that were supposed to take stain but it still looks bad. I will try to get the company to send us another leg.
