From British Columbia Canada, we ordered Julie Bed Frame Nov 25 and received from FedEx to our apartment Dec 11 and 12 in two shipments. We are pleased with the time it took to arrive. It is a beautiful, well constructed bed, but we have some recommendations. It promised to not need a box spring, but it actually requires several more than the four wooden slats provided to lay across the frame under the mattress. Slats can easily be made locally. Make sure to have a screw driver with x head for some of the screws. The other tool and all the hardware is provided. Paint needs a few days to flash off.

Love the bed, it just right for my 6 year old granddaughter. We did have some problems with the predrilled bolts on the bed rails which seem to have been stripped and created a difficulty getting them unscrewed.

Love this bed! Bought for my teenage daughter. It's sturdy and easy to put together! Although it's pictured without a box spring, we included ours and a new mattress and it makes such a nice difference in her room. Great purchase!

It was easy to put together and seems pretty sturdy. 4/5 stars because a couple of the pre-drilled holes were poorly done.

Very pretty and suited my 9yr old well. Only complaint is it came cracked in several places and looked as if someone tried to cover the cracks with filler.

Nice bed. Overall very happy with it. I put a standard size box spring with my mattress on this bed. This made it way too tall for my daughter. I recommend purchasing a low profile (shorter) box spring to go with this bed. Other than that I love it!

I love the bed, but have it 4 stars because it said that you don’t need a boxspring. If buying a foam mattress I would suggest getting a box spring, too. The slats are just far enough apart that the mattress does say between the slats. Otherwise it is a great bed!

I bought 2 of these beds for both my girls. They are very cute beds. Be sure to spread the 3 slats out evenly , like one closer to the top & 1 closer to the bottom because the box spring will rock back & forth!

There were some minor blemishes to the wood but we did not end up returning since they were not visible once we put the mattress on. One of the premade screw holes also started cracking when we attempted to put in the (correct) screw so we ended up using a smaller one.

The bed was easy to put together and works for my daughter's bedroom right now. However, per similar reviews, the materials are of poor quality and we already have a crack in the headboard. We will most likely need to replace the bed in the next few years. As such, if you are looking for a long term solution this probably isn't the bed for you.

Damage to headboard and some of the panels look like they were cut with a knife instead of a saw; jagged edges and not a smooth cut

Beware - not great construction quality. Bed has been in use by my 13 year old daughter for less than 6 months and frame has fallen apart. Main issue is with the attachment of the running boards to the headboard/footboard. Head/Foot have metal embed plates which are strong, however the connection of the plate to the running boards is only 5 x 1/2" wood screws per plate. Out of 20 total screws, I found that 16 had stripped out within 5 months and one of the joints completely let go. Luckily my daughter noticed before she got in bed and the bed collapsed. Better attachment method is needed. I am in process of trying to repair, but disappointed and potentially dangerous.

I originally rated this 5 stars because it was nice, easy to put together, and exactly what we were looking for. Plus my daughter really liked it. We are now 9 months into her using it and it's definitely not a solid bed. Has a lot of sway in it. Also noticed the footboard has cracks in it. I don't care how rough you are with a bed, it shouldn't sway back and forth and have cracks in the footboard. Would not buy this again.

The bed is split on the foot board. Very disappointing to spend this much money for a bed that is split And I just took the bed out of the box.

The bed came later than quoted and on two separate dates. When it came it was broken. It was poorly made. The joint was cracked (ironically right next to the passed 100% inspection sticker). I glued it and clamped it myself rather than deal with the “monkey jump” of sending it back for another poor quality product. Won’t purchase from here again.

Do not buy this bed. We bought it for my daughters first big girl bed so it's working for now, but we are looking for another and planning to return this one. The review is way wrong. It should be 1 star for sure. Holes were not in the right place and missing so we had to create our own holes and configure it to make the bed which in turn damaged the wood. The bed is not the same length on both sides making it lopsided and there is about a 6 inch gap at the end of the mattress. Very poor quality and I do not feel safe sitting on it.

Hardwoods

Hardwood wood varieties refer to the type of tree the wood is taken from; it has nothing to do with how heavy or dense the wood is (contrary to popular belief!). Hardwood woods are sourced from trees that have leaves and lose their leaves in the winter months. Types of hardwood trees include hickory, maple, oak, birch and cherry (among others). Wood from hardwood trees is usually harder and therefore more dense, as these trees tend to grow at a slower rate. Hardwood is ideal for use in indoor furniture crafting, as it is sturdy and durable. Most hardwood varieties are bright and beautiful in their natural tone/shade, but many take well to staining, finishes and paints. The hardwood varieties offer a cozy, warm look and enrich your bedroom style. Hardwood bed frames are a great way to brighten your bedroom and enhance the overall look and feel of your sleep space!

Pine

Do you love a rustic, classic bedroom style? A pine wood bed frame should be at the top of your shopping list! Pine wood is a softwood variety, meaning it is well-suited for use in both indoor and outdoor furniture because of its durability. Pine is a shock-resistant wood that is strong and long-lasting and is well-suited for crafting ornate and intricate details; this only adds more beauty to your home! Pine wood is lighter in color with an almost creamy white appearance; it is beautiful in both its natural state or finished with a stain. Pine wood is also lighter in weight than some other wood varieties, making assembly of bed frames relatively simple and quick. Pine wood bed frames are an ideal wood to stain, which gives you the opportunity to change or enhance your style as your preferences change. It’s a perfect choice whether you want to achieve a rustic, warm bedroom environment, or a more modern, contemporary sleep space.

Poplar

Poplar wood is one of the softest wood varieties on the market. That’s not to say it isn’t strong and durable; poplar wood is relatively easy to cut and can be painted to change or enhance your bedroom style. Poplar wood furniture is an ideal choice for people who are looking for natural-toned furniture pieces. The lighter tone of poplar wood is well-suited for smaller bedrooms, as the lighter color of poplar wood furniture pieces would make the room look larger. Poplar wood is an ideal design choice to create a nautical or beach-themed bedroom space and pairs well with a soft blue color palette. Poplar wood furniture is lighter than most other commercially available wood products, so assembly of furniture is relatively simple and uncomplicated. Poplar wood bedroom furniture is a great way to refurbish your bedroom décor and style.

Softwoods

Softwood wood varieties are wood types that are sourced from cone bearing trees (evergreens with needles), such as spruce, pine, and fir. Softwood wood varieties are well-known for their superb ability to resist decay and/or rot, making them an ideal choice for both indoor and outdoor use; they are long-lasting and very durable. Softwood wood varieties are also versatile and are the top choice for designing and crafting furniture with ornate, distinct details. Softwoods are more vulnerable to dings or dents; however, they are still very sturdy and dependable furniture pieces. Due to the wood type’s versatility, softwood bed frames are ideal for people who love an ornate and detailed décor style. Softwood wood types most often have a neutral, earthy color and pair well with bright color palettes to create a gorgeous contrast and give your bedroom a fresh new look!
