This is a solid piece of hardware, unlike many others. However, because it is so solid, it is also bulky. This probably won't be a good choice if you are planning to install it on an inexpensive, wobbly desk. This is great for professional office desks with thick wood tops.Tray slides in and out from under the desk, but requires an extremely deep (front to back) desktop in order to fully hide it underneath when not using it.It also swivels from side to side, but because the keyboard/mouse tray is so wide, you may have limited range to move it.Up and down extension is also a great features. Being able to raise the tray above the desktop is great while standing. As for moving down, unless your chair is very low and desktop very high, I don't see that moving down too far is practical. Getting the keyboard just below the surface is possible, but much lower than that seem difficult without using a non-standard chair height.

It’s a little complicated to install. Be sure you enough depth under your desk. Specific measurements would be useful. Otherwise operates well. The standing feature is a nice add!

I've been looking quite extensively for a sit-stand solution for my home office, and while it's not perfect this solution has been working well so far. I am using it with the Ergotron sit-stand monitor support arm; this setup leaves my desk clear and accessible. The keyboard tray mounts under the desk with 8 screws, and it's sturdy enough so far. The desk material needs to be thick enough to hold the weight of the mechanism, which is not light by any stretch (probably around 10-12 lbs, though I did not weigh it). A flimsy or hollow desk wouldn't hold this. The mechanism is about 4 inches high, so you need that much space (vertically) underneath the desk for knee clearance. It works for an Ikea-type table desk (e.g. Ivar) but it would not work on a desk with a drawer at the front. Also, the mounting mechanism is a full 19.5" deep (50 cm) - that's from back to front - so the table/desk has to be at least that deep to put it on. And you can't stow the keyboard all the way under the desk unless there is about 30" (75 cm) behind the front of the desk. Any smaller than that, the keyboard sticks out at the front. Also, you'll want to measure the desk height: I'm quite short but I still have to reach a bit downward to work standing up, because the desk is quite low. Anyone taller than I am would have to use a higher desk or raise the keyboard further with boxes or something.Changing from sit to stand and back is a 2-handed operation that takes a bit of coordination and practice. It's taken me a few days but I'm getting it. It's definitely not as simple as the sit-stand workstations that you just move up and down, but keeping my desk clear of the frames is worth it for me.Overall, this purchase is working out so far and I would recommend it as a good solution.

Questions & Answers

Is the keyboard try long and wide enough to fit an ergonomic keyboard like Microsoft's
Thanks for inquiring about our KT2 Ergonomic Sit-Stand Computer Keyboard Tray. The adjustable height and tilt keyboard panel measures approximately: 18.5" left-to-right by 8.75" front-to-back. The panel has a non-skid traction surface to help keep keyboards stationary when typing.Every keyboard is different so we recommend measuring to ensure compatability. If you have a large keyboard, in general, we find that customer's don't have issues with minimal hangover (an inch of hangover generally equates to about 1 key).

I cant say. A standard keyboard fit just fine. I no longer use it so I can’t provide specifics.
