First, I have to agree with most people here who said that the installation manual is badly written. I can understand where people can be frustrated and leave a bad review. Even for me, I am a very handy person, and I have been putting together stuff for a very long time, I struggle a lot with the manual. I was able to figure out most of the drawings in the manual by really paying attention to details, such as the holes placement, a lot of guessing in my part as to what they meant to say. I would suggest to Manhattan to make sure every detail is included in the drawing, even the pre-dilled holes and show which side is the finish side, this would have made it much easier. What I first noticed is that not all the part are labeled, very bad as most wood panel look the same for the wall mount. So I had to struggle for about an hour or so to figure out which one is the top panel, middle panel and the bottom panel. I was able to figure it out by laying everything on the floor and looking at the pre-drilled holes, but it was very frustated since I had to go back and forth many times. Also, they do not show which side is up and which side is down, so you have to stay there and flip the panel until you get it right. The pre-dilled hole are also not visible, you can miss them easily, I would suggest to take a marker and draw a circle on all the pre-dilled holes and lay down all the panels. When I first lay everything down, I noticed that the hole on the side bar do not line up with the panel also, you are supposed to put screws there. No matter how I placed the side bar, the holes did not line up (Quality Control issue). Once I figure out where each panel goes it was easy to put the screws on.The stand with the drawers also has its own manual, also not very well laid out, but it was much easier to figure out where everything goes than the top panel, and most of the holes lined up with the drawers, although it took much longer to put together. The TV brackets were also easy to put in, they provided all the screws for different type of TV. I have a sony TV and they fit perfectly. Now once, everything is assembled, it looks beautiful, this is by far the nicest piece of furniture I have. I added some accent LED lightning on the back of the wall mount. I first had it on the front, but later relocated it to the back of the panel so that you can only see the glare of the light. I bought the RGB LED strips here on amazon. I also added bias LED on the back of the TV and the reflection it makes is beautiful.Overall, it is a great piece of furniture that is well built and look sturdy. If you are not a handy person (I mean very handy), please hire someone to assemble it for you otherwise you will be very frustrated. I took me 24hrs to put everything together. My advice to the manufacturer, take someone from the street and have him assemble the furniture, this will be a test on how easy it would be for someone to understand the manual.Read more

Let's just say that everything that other people wrote in their review are true. It is quite some work to get this thing up and right. I was very nervous when I ordered it and when I actually started to unbox it. But do NOT let that make you not buy this product - the end result is breathtaking and worth all the pain.It took me 2.5 days to build it. Started on Friday afternoon and the entertainment center was up on Sunday Night. Probably could have done it in a day if I didn't have to sleep, eat, babysit and do some household work. Also, it took a little longer because I was thorough and wanted to avoid any irreversible mistake or damage to the thing.I contacted a local handyment and he said he could do it for $60, but he didn't have a look at the product, or have no idea about how difficult or time-consuming it is. I doubt he would not do it for $60 now that I have better idea about how difficult and complex it is.Before I end this review, let me mention a few 'common errors and challenges' that you might commit and face, so that you are careful about those when you build it.1. Screwing the telescopic slider (for the drawers) will be a pain in the a$$. This involves part 5, 6, 8, 14 and 26. I put up the slider at the very end because I was worried that the pre-drilled holes may not match, and I was right. After I built the frame and the drawers, I had to hold the slider up against the frame, screw it in, then slide it out and screw the other portion in to the drawers while someone holds the drawers up for me.2. Pay special attention while connecting the LED lights and the cable for those. The cable should pass through the hollow area of part 12 and 16 and the switch should be accessible on Panel 12, to the right (if you are looking at it from the front). I forgot to do that and then had to take it apart to do this again.3. This is the most important, this is about the brackets that hold the panel up against the wall. It is part number 9070 according to the manual. In the manual, it does not say anything about the studs. I was very nervous about it and didnot want to put it up against the drywall. Here is what I did - I found studs using a stud finder, and drilled the 9070 brackets (5 of them) on the wall, to the studs, not to the drywall. I had to take mesasurements on how to best fit the brackets (according to the studs location) so that they are evenly spread out and can take the load. My studs were 32 inches apart and the panel is 85 inches wide so it worked out pretty well. Now, according to the location of the studs and the 9070 brackets that I screw in to the wall, I modified the location of the associated 9070 brackets that are supposed to go in to the panel (take measurements, draw lines, drill new holes, because pre-drilled holes locations won't work and they are not according to the location of the studs). Also, when you take measurements and draw lines for the location of those brackets on the panel, you need to take into consideration of how high do you want it up on the wall. You want it just about the height (or maybe 0.5 inches less) than the unit that is resting on the floor so that there is no gap between the unit on the floor and the floating wall unit. These things are not taken into consideration in the manual. Because there are basically two different manuals, one for the stand that rests on the floor, and one for the floating wall panel. If you want them to nicely match with one another and no wall to be shown behind, take the measurements accordingly.I strongly believe that the manual considered concrete walls only, do not fancy to hold this panel up against the drywall, without finding studs. You may damage the panel, the tv and your entire house or the living room area.4. The manual does not say anything about mounting the TV to the panel. The package does come with some TV wall mount, but I had my own and I used that. Here's what I would suggest, no matter which wall mount you use, I suggest that you hook up the wall mount to the panel before you put the panel up against the wall. Once you have the wall mount hooked up to the panel, it's not that difficult to screw the tv in to the wall bracket. Once you put the tv up on the wall mount, you will have to draw the power cable for the TV through the hole which might be a little challenging as the gap behind the panel before the wall is kind of small, but you can do it. Otherwise you will have to mount the TV altogether to the panel before you put it up against the wall which will add some weight to it, and you will have to be more careful. You should also think about the how many devices you are gonna use, and how many outlets you are gonna need, ahead of time. You many need two multi-sockets having 6 outlets each, and those two multi sockets will be powered on using the standard two socket power outlet on the wall. You can hide the multi-sockets under the stand resting on roof, there is room for that. Among those six outlets (on each multi socket) you will probably be able to use 3-4 on each because some plugs are bigger and kind of covers the next socket. I have seven devices to power up - Two gaming consoles, one chromecast, one Amazon Fire TV, One Modem, One Router and One Google Home Speaker. You will also need to plug in the plug for the LED light of the panel. The only time I needed help from someone is to connect the telescopic sliders to the drawer units, and to put panel up against the wall, at the very end. But it took me 2.5 days as I said. I think it can be done in a day if two persons work together at a stretch.Read more

I must admit, It is beautiful once assembled right. I read all the reviews how hard it was to assemble, so we decided to get the Amazon service to assemble it professionally. The Tech assembler was so nice BUT long story short... he was not able to put it right or correctly and the wall panel was not level and worst was put too high and would make all the wires thats supposed to be hidden behind would dangles down in between the table and the wall panel (about a foot gap). I’m not sure why he put it that way when the picture clearly shows otherwise. Now I saw some pictures by customers that they prefer it like that with a gap and put a piece of wood to hide the wires. But I specifically said as shown in the original picture. I called amazon customer service. Good thing they have a “happiness guarantee”. Because we were not very happy about how it turned out. And refunded me the cost of the professional service. We were going to order another professional service from Amazon to fix it but decided to hire someone else. It cost us double how much we paid Amazon for the service because apparently it iwas harder to fix someone else mistake. Also, when the wall panel was finally adjusted to the correct height and level, we found out that we had to fix the holes in the drywall from that mistakes. It was not an easy fix as we have textured wall. Anyway, as I’ve said It is a beautiful piece but if you are getting service from amazon to assembled it to make sure you interview whoever they are sending and make sure he has the correct tools. Or it will cost you more plus the headache! I gave it 2 stars because first I paid more (just saw it on sale now for $100 less) plus the headache and cost to assemble then fix it and the time it took to finally be done.Read more
