This wasn’t hard at all to put together. I’m 23 female, 125 pounds and put it together by myself in an hour and a half. The only thing I struggled with was the headboard. It was really heavy to work with and for me to lift, but I was able to lift it eventually at the right angles. Connecting the sideboards to the headboard was a bit of a struggle too. The instructions say to connect all sideboards and footboard together, then to connect the headboard. Following these instructions, the headboard kept falling on top of me and it HAD to be straight up in order to connect. Having hard wood floors made this harder even with a furniture pad.**I recommend connecting the sideboards with the footboard first (standing up and bending over or kneeling to do this helps to prop up the headboard). Then, connect the headboard to the sideboards so you can just connect the middle on each side.**The box came all beat up and had holes in it here and there the King size was 98 pounds and shaped like a huge, quite shallow rectangle. If you have steps up to your front porch, good luck! I was missing 1 Allen bolt and one of the wood feet was defective (see picture), so the frame is missing support down at the bottom. Though I’m probably just going to glue the defective foot on instead! Other than that this is a gorgeous bed and my fiancé and I are very pleased. Box springs fit perfectly. The mattress fits perfect too, no gaps at all. With this being said, I measured the thickness of the box spring, the thickness of the mattress (this is what the instructions say to do) and I followed the measurement chart to a T and it worked out flawlessly. You cannot miss this step because it’s very important! Read and follow the instructions (except for that bed frame connecting one) and you’ll love it too!! The charcoal is a true charcoal and looks great with our navy blue color and graywhite color scheme!
