Some parts were not well marked, but overall an easy assembly. The small allen wrench (included) gets a bit hard on the fingers but not a deal breaker. It took a bit more than the stated 2 hours but I worked alone, and am more meticulous than some might be. The wife was very pleased with the final product.

So far it has been easy to put together by myself. Could have had another coat of paint on some of the pieces. Also some of the pieces didn’t have a number on them pretty easy to figure out where they go tho.

We were pleasantly surprised by how well made and nice the bed is. It took much longer than 2 hours to put together - but the parts are labeled with letters and numbers so it was not to difficult. We laid everything out so we could look at the directions and find the pieces. Very sturdy. Pleased overall.

This bed is perfect for my son’s room and as a guest bed when needed. I bought (2) 8 inch memory foam mattresses for it and it was perfect. The six inch ones would also work well if you want a little edge to show around the top of the bed when both mattresses are on. I was able to put the whole bed together by myself with the instructions. The instructions were pretty good. I separated out all the pieces and hardware before I began and that helped a lot. It’s a beautiful bed and I highly recommend it.

Cute bed for my toddler to grow into. I like how you can pull it out to make a king bed and it has drawers for storage. For the price it’s a great value for what you get.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The bed is really sturdy and looks to be made wellTakes about 3 hrs a one person job to put together.Only complaint is is that the screws to attached slates for the King side slide out are a tad too short. But a east fix to the hardware store.Over all love the color and how it fits into a smaller room is sturdy and large enough for a 7 and 4 yr old to share. Despite the long assembly time we are very pleased with the fact that we can turn this bed into a king sized bed!

Bed has great storage, is easy to extend and retract back to twin. Has held up nicely for two years now since we got it (our son uses it every night). And frankly with the mattress we got it's so comfortable that my husband and I are jealous and want this bed for ourselves. One issue - it easily gets scratched. Not an issue for us, but that's really the only quality fault I have with the product. Very happy we purchased it and highly recommend it.

The bed was easy to assemble, it just took concentration. I recommend taking everything out of both boxes, laying it out and separating it by stages. There will be 3 MAIN assembly stages. Main Bed frame, Bed Extension and Drawers.Finish was inconsistent,, some 100% covered, others 50%.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To start off, I will say that I have been a bit nervous about this twin to king extending day bed. After selecting this bed, I took it upon myself and started looking into reviews for the bed, that was probably a mistake, but I was curious. A lot of people expressed concerns with the bed, stating that the support slabs were breaking easily after barely any usage. I have had this bed for roughly a week, put together for roughly a week and a half, and I have not noticed any issues with it as of yet! Keep in mind, my daughter is 10 and roughly 50lbs and she is the one using it currently! Assembly was not as bad as I was expecting, though this could have been because there was two of us putting it together. If it was just myself putting it together, it may have had taken longer. This does not come with any mattresses, so you will have to purchase your own. The size really depends on how small/big you are going to keep it. We decided to do two twin size beds, that way we can have it as a king or twin, depending on the needs or wants of our daughter. It is pretty easy to slide out into a king and slide back in to a twin, but she does need help sometimes. I love the fact that it comes with extra storage, this is perfect for some many things, whether you want to store extra sheets/pillows there, clothes or other stuff! I do wish that that the 'railings' were a bit higher so that when she has it as a twin, she still has a bit of a 'headboard' for her pillows, but it's not a deal breaker. So far, it has been holding up good, I do plan on changing out the support slabs if we start to encounter any issues that others have mentioned. All in all thought, it's a cute bed and very convenient. Would be perfect for a guest bedroom as well!

Secure bed, easy enough to convert from a twin to a queen, and actually fairly easy to setup. Just know that there are no word instructions, just pictures. You may have to do a little interpretting. Alos, keep in mind that the width of the bed does not fully fit with two twin Zinus beds (not sure if this is the case for others). Needed about 2-3 more inches to make both mattresses fit once expanded from a twin to a king. Just means the bed sits up slightly on the end, which is fine for guests.

The bed is cheaply made. The design is a great concept but it has no rails So the drawers are Very hard to pull in and out and almost break the frame every time. when you are pulling out the bed to be the larger style it gets stuck on carpet and almost breaks frame everytime

It’s hard to put together but doable- the problem is when we picked it up it does have 2 boxes and we were only given one (we had no idea) so we had to go back and get the other the next day when it came in. Also- we are missing a few parts. We lost the yellow paper with the number to the company to order more but will have to research to find it. It’s ok for those reasons but if it had not been a hassle it would probably be better rated- also- don’t expect there to be any rails- the mattresses reach the top and we got what was suggested

Cheaply done. Wont slide in and out easily without taking matress' off prior. should be $200 plus free shipping. Also no shipping information was updated throughout the buying process. Spent hours on the phone with home depot without an answer. And it finally showed up almost a week late. It also takes 3 hours to assemble.

It’s a very cute bed but the railing isn’t tall enough so two stacked mattresses make it look like there’s no backing. The pieces are also not made super well, we have two screws on the side that won’t go in all the way and there’s nothing we can do other than shave them down.

The bed looks nice however it is extremely difficult to pull out the bottom of the bed to convert to a king size. The drawers also broke fairly quickly. We have carpet in the room, perhaps it might be easier on hard flooring.

Low quality bed frame made of pine wood. Can scratch with the nail. Paint is not solid white. They used a thin layer of paint and is not uniform. Front wood bent, not straight. Scratches on the wood. Not easy to extend. When trying to extend the fixed part moves because is very light. Lower quality than IKEA bed frame. Disappointing and will return.

Hello! This item does not come with the mattresses. This item uses two Standard Twin size mattress; these are generally 38" x 75"L. The space on this bed for each mattress is 40"W x 77"L. We recommend a mattress height of 4-6" for each mattress so that you can still see the back of the day bed when the mattresses are stacked.

Hi Lisa, This should work fine if you do not plan to store the mattresses on top of each other. We suggest 4-6 inch mattresses when stacked so that you will still see some of the daybed frame around the mattress. Your plan sounds just fine.

Hi Mike, The Melody bed uses two twin mattresses. You will stack the two twin mattresses on top of each other when the bed is in 'twin' position. When the bed is extended you slide one mattress over to the other side. We recommend each mattress height should be 4-6"H. The bed, when open, will be approximately 78" x 75". You are correct that the length is shy of a 'king' mattress. This is a convertible bed that offers a great space-saving option.

Hi jdas- The bed slats run in one direction so the bed is intended to be more supportive if used as shown. Having the mattress topper cover the two mattresses isn't an issue; it's just that we can't guarantee the same level of support/slat strength if used where someone is laying in the same direction as the slats. Two people can use the bed in extended position; it's just not intended the way I believe you are describing since the twin bed is a day bed. Hope this helps!

Hi Tammy, The bed is designed to be slept on as shown; there would be a bit of a gap in the mattresses if you tried to sleep in a different direction. This bed, when extended, has 32 slats and is well constructed. when extended is this a king bed?
Hi Babs, Yes, this bed extends to a king-size bed. You will need to purchase two twin-size mattresses, each 4-6"H. When the bed is not extended the two mattresses sit on top of each other in 'daybed' position. Then when you extend the trundle you will move one mattress onto the extension, thereby making a king-size bed. To clarify on the community's response- Dimensions: When the bed is underneath: 44W x 77D x 25H, Bed pulled out dimensions: 80W x 77D x 25H, Bed pulled out and drawers open: 97W x 77D x 25H. The drawers pull out with the trundle so they can always be accessed. Hope that helps!

Weight capacity and type of mattress
Hello and thank you for your interest in our Melody day bed. We would recommend a weight capacity of 300 lbs total with 150 lbs on each twin bed when extended. The bed will need 2 standard twin mattresses to utilize when extended. We recommend 4”- 8” mattresses so that they can easily stack when collapsed as a daybed. Thank you!

Hi Dd, For this bed we suggest purchasing two twin-standard size mattresses that are 4-6"H each. This will be a good height when the bed is in twin position and the two mattresses will be stacked on top of each other. As the manufacturer of the bed we aren't able to suggest a specific mattress for you to purchase, but hope this will help guide you in the right direction. Thanks!

What size twin mattress will fit in this bed? I already have what I think are twin XL mattresses...
This bed uses two twin standard mattresses (XL will be too long). We recommend each mattress be no more than 4-6" thick to allow for the bed frame to show when the bed is in 'twin' position. The mattresses are stacked when the bed is in twin position and then one mattress is pulled over on to the extended side when pulled out.
0 Helpful 0
Are the mattresses included?
No. We bought 2-6” ones but they stack on top of the bed so this bakes the railing not really usable unless the bed is extended out.
0 Helpful 0
Are the mattresses included?
Hi Brian, No the mattresses are not included. We recommend two 4-6"H mattresses. They will stack on top of each other while the mattress is in 'twin' position and then you will pull out one mattress over to the king size when extended. Hope that helps!

Is there a weight limit?
We recommend 200lbs per bed. Here's a bit more info- The second mattress is stored just below the first one; we recommend mattresses of 4-6"H each as the sides of the daybed are low. There are storage drawers under the bed that do pull out as the bed is extended.

King

A king size bed is the largest standard bed that you will find in the market plus it measures 76 inches by 80 inches, making it a great and popular choice among couple. Single sleepers with the proper finances also enjoy the luxury and comfort of having a huge bed all to themselves. The King Size bed also comes in different variations which are the California size bed that’s 4 inches longer than a normal king size bed and 4 inches narrower, another variation is the California king size bed, the ideal choice if you are sharing your bed with someone who is more than 6 feet tall. If you are couple looking for a bed with extra comfort and space for the both of you I would highly recommend the King size bed as it’s a combination of unmatched comfort and luxury.

Twin

A Twin bed also referred to as a single bed is one of the smallest bed in the market with a dimension of 38’’ by 75’’. Its compact size makes it ideal for single sleepers may it be children or an adult living in a small space such as a studio apartment. It’s an affordable and versatile bed set up for various sleepers such as toddlers and college student in the dorm. For over several decades it has been one of the most popular beds among college students and young children in their early teens as you can find it in most of their bedrooms, however in this modern age where people are seeking for more comfort and space, the popularity of twin beds is been over taken by queen size beds. Despite being great for growing children it’s also very flexible and versatile especially if you are trying to maximize the space in your bedroom.

Brown

Even though brown is not the most obvious color to use when decorating your bedroom. A Brown bed’s warmth nook makes it worth incorporating in to your bedroom.
