The dresser is solid and attractive. Drawers are smooth. However, the assembly is quite challenging. The instructions are not faulty, but rather incomplete at some crucial moments, e.g., drawer sliders have 4 parts, but their identifying marks are not mentioned and only discovered and deciphered in a moment of genius by my partner (CL = cabinet left). Also, some holes were missing and we needed a drill, twice.

Bought just 8 months ago. Too lightweight and moves around. Dealt with it but now, a drawer fell apart! Too bad - great color and style: hence, the 2 stars.

Looks adorable but completely fell apart after a year. Drawers were always stuck end drove me crazy. Middle leg fell off. The drawer fronts came off, creating a little spiky nail death trap. Then the black divider pieces fell off. The instructions were the worst of any furniture I’ve owned, took absolutely forever to build.

LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS! I WISH I HAD The reviews are true--this dresser is very hard to assemble. Many of the pilot holes don't exist. The hardware isn't labelled properly. The instructions are vague and very poorly done. The packaging is terrible--no matter how often I clean up and sweep up, there's still bits of styrafoam everywhere. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but trust me, it is. Re the actual dresser: I received it a few days ago and still haven't used it b/c assembly is so damn difficult. I'm still halfway through the assembly. Every time I think I'm close to finishing, I relaize it's missing another pilot hole or something else is wrong thanks to the very shoddy intstructions. The wooden pegs used as joints literally snapped as I was assembling the cabinets. Very poor construction. The quality overall if pretty low. It's particle board + laminate. One of the corners is already peeling and I haven't even used it yet. It does look very pretty, though... I guess if you want a cheap dresser and you don't mind the hassle of home improvement projects and your main priority is price + look, it might be okay, but be aware that you need to be somewhat handy, have a drill, and be okay with taking on a pretty big project here.

This furniture was laminate over particle board. It was very complicated to put together. Pieces did not fit properly. And doesn’t look as good as the photo.

Engineered Wood

Engineered wood when used on dressers and chests, it produces beautiful products. This is because this wood is combined or man-made through a systematic combination of different lay wood. The top surface in some cases has distinct patterns that make them unique and stylish from other wood materials. When it comes to durability, the wood is made using wood shavings, sheets, and particles bound together using a strong adhesive. Engineered wood just like any other wood, requires care and maintenance, simply wipe out the dust using a towel to enable the dresser to serve you for a long period. However, this wood absorbs liquids faster and a simple water spill makes this wood bulge hence weakening it. Always ensure proper care by positioning your dressers at a room position free from any liquids. It is also easy to work with hence enabling craftsmen to craft unique dressers and chests.

In addition, it's quite easy to paint when it comes to customizing your medium density fiberboard dresser, unlike a solid wood dresser. It also comes with its own disadvantages, such as it's relatively easy to damage, especially if you have little kids who are always playing around the house.
