Love it. I didn't sit there and count or bluray but I doubt it actually holds 250 like it says...you got to remember, some come in bigger cases than others especially if you get like a collector's edition...which we have several of...but we're also movie nuts and have a lot. I plan to order a second one soon. It's a perfect size for the space...my husband used to have the movies on a giant gray metal rack that was an eye sore in my living room...I like this shelf much better!!!

I don't have TV of any sort. I only do movies. I've amassed well over 450 DVDs, which long over-flowed a coffee-table I made that held about 300. So I got two of these shelves for cheaper than the cost of lumber. After a couple of briefly confusing moments, the kit was easy to put together in just over 30 minutes. I'm handy with tools and hardware. If you're not, it might be tricky - but with 1 flat & 1 Philips screwdriver, & a hammer, you'll fig'er it out.4 things;1. One of my brief confusions was the back piece - I could clearly see it wasn't wide enough, til I finally noticed it was folded. So well folded it looked like one solid piece.2. The directions; I could'a done with a few more details. Is it just me or are directions scant & non-specific these days?3 - I really misfigured the number of DVDs this will hold. I came up with somewhere around 250 - it holds 140 vertically.(14 DVDs per shelf). You can try for 15 per shelf but I don't like them that tight. Makes it hard to pull out just one DVD. If you have any of the thin style cases one would easily work with 14 regulars. You can get 20 more horizontally on the bottom. And if you want, you can get 10 more in by laying one vertically on each shelf. That would be a total of 170 at standard DVD case size.I've shown the extra 30 placement in my photo - but I will only have the 140 vertical. I don't like the horizontal.I bought 2 of these units so I will have room for another 3rd of my collection4. This thing is a little back heavy so definitely needs to be placed against a wall or something.I also wish it was higher off the floor. I plan to add a 2x4 base to it. In fact, I plan to modify the entire base & top, hinge the 2 shelves together, put them on wheels and make the unit where it can be closed. It will simply look like a tower. Will add crown mould at top & paint slender tree limbs on each side.Read more

For starters this item was a breeze to build. I’ve bought so much furniture over the course of my lifetime that you have to build on your own and this thing took like 20-30! I kept getting distracted by YouTube videos. Instructions were a piece of cake. Nothing in the box was bent, broken or missing. In fact it was packed in there insanely tightly. If you have a gigantic collection of dvds/blu-rays this is not going to be big enough for you. But good news, this company makes more than one size! I’m insanely happy with this item. So much better than the cheaply bookshelf I had been using.

This is what I'm looking for in a shelf. Cheap, sturdy considering it's materials, and decent looking. This is one of those cheap shelves that's made of what seems like a wood/cardboard composite. Assembled, it looks great, and isn't flimsypros:cheap.looks great.lots of shelves.perfect for games, movies, CDs, and similarly sized objects.Sturdy when assembled.cons:The shelves are grooved and sit on the pegs in a way that makes them easy to knock out. There's a gap at the back of the shelves where thin items like pens can fall through.Slightly difficult to assemble.notes:As other reviews have stated, there was a little sawdust in the box (no big deal).I did not use the 4 rubber tacks that are supposed to go on the bottom.Mine came with a thin cardboard-like strip, which I placed under the front of the base to give the shelf a backwards lean.Read more

Seriously, they couldn't have vacuumed the thing before sending it out? It's like they packaged it up for ya so they wouldn't have to clean it up.Anyway, fairly easy to put together. I didn't use the included nail in feet and bought some different adhesive feet from another store. A lot smaller than expected. The shelves are shallow. My DVD cases and hanging off of them standing upright. I posted a picture so you can get a sense of scale. We'll see how this works out.10/17/2018So far so good. It's been a very sturdy shelf and I haven't had any issues loading the shelves with game cases. Honestly I completely forgot about them being shallow. It's a nice little shelf for small things and looks good next to my bed. I'll keep it a while but definitely think about looking to get a larger shelf for books. But for game cases, it's pretty decent.Read more

When I unpacked it and put it together I was a little skeptical at first, but after a little rearranging of some of my favorite items I found that really do like it. The shelf did make me decide that I do want something taller sometime in the future but for now it serves the purpose that was intended and that was to de-clutter some space. It's tall enough without being too overbearing, it's slim so I was able to fit it onto the wall with lots of space on either side and its dimensions don't make it jut outward. The reason only 4 stars is because as you are putting it together you get a lot of that wood dust flying around, so make sure your vacuum cleaner is on stand by! Another reason is because as you are arranging the shelves, the pegs are a bit hard to push in and pull out. I had to get them out with a pair of small pliers. I'm sure over time they will get easier to move around.I think I will get another one just for DVDs.
