I've built a few platforms out of wood but switched to this after a recent move. The workmanship seems good. I liked the fact that the corner legs are set back a few inches from the end -- fewer stubbed toes. Thought I would need to put plywood over the frame but not necessary. Mattress goes right on the metal frame. Mattress will slide around which is good when you are changing sheets. Does not slide around noticeably in use. Good height. Your carpet and the way the legs sink into it will reduce the clearance for storage. Glad I went with this in the twin width with a new good quality mattress and some Pendleton wool blankets. Nice new sheets. Does it get any better?

I recently purchased this bed frame after having ordered the 18" Zinus SmarBase. While the 18" frame allowed for a lot of storage underneath, I found it to be too tall to use with my mattress (very deep mattress with topper). The 14" frame is perfect in height and still allows for ample storage underneath. This frame comes packaged in one large box with two sections. Simply unfold each section, snap the supports bars in place in each corner, and then use the two screws provided to connect the two sections together. Very sturdy once put together.

We were quite surprised and grateful that this bed platform could be ordered and shipped to us In Hawaii through the always dependable Home Depot. The product itself arrived in great condition with all parts included. My brother helped me set it up, and it took us maybe a half hour to put it together, if that, once out of the box. Really. It was pretty easy. It feels sturdy. The mattress does slide when bumped, but that's really not an issue. There are no creaks or squeaks when moving around on this thing. We'll see how it does in the long run, but we're awfully happy with it now. One more thing - love the recessed legs & 13" of storage space below.

This bedframe fit the bill. The transport box could have used a couple of punch-out holes to make it easier to handle. Light but a trifle bulky for one person. We already have used a couple of the twin version, so knew it was easy to assemble. It could use a couple more cross-bolts to hold the frames together sturdier.

Great quality and easy for the most part to put together, except the holes for the screws to bind the 2sections together, one side was incorrect so I could not put together and too much work to send back.

The frame is very well made and super easy to "click" together, no tools. It came packaged very nicely also, easy to handle. A great improvement over the old style metal frames. My only wish is that they would make a small "lip" around the edge, so the mattress does not slide.

Hi Sara, a box spring can be used with this frame; however is is not required only because the platform is engineered with heavy gauge steel wires that replace your box spring.

Twin

A Twin bed also referred to as a single bed is one of the smallest bed in the market with a dimension of 38’’ by 75’’. Its compact size makes it ideal for single sleepers may it be children or an adult living in a small space such as a studio apartment. It’s an affordable and versatile bed set up for various sleepers such as toddlers and college student in the dorm. For over several decades it has been one of the most popular beds among college students and young children in their early teens as you can find it in most of their bedrooms, however in this modern age where people are seeking for more comfort and space, the popularity of twin beds is been over taken by queen size beds. Despite being great for growing children it’s also very flexible and versatile especially if you are trying to maximize the space in your bedroom.

Twin XL

A twin xl bed is a 38 inches wide by 80 inches long bed that is usually best suited for single sleepers who are more than 6 feet tall, mainly growing children or teens who are likely to exceed 6 feet eventually. There are many benefits that are usually associated with having a twin-xl bed such as flexibility and versatility. Twin-xl bed offers a sleeper with more room for flexibility. A twin-xl bed is also ideal for growing children who have outgrown their baby cribs as it will be a while before they outgrow a twin-xl bed. It can also be used by a single adult sleeper especially if you are looking to save on space, as long as you are not that tall. A twin-xl bed has its own economic benefit especially if you are trying to save some money when furnishing your kids room, as it is usually not such a big investment.

Black

When trying to open up a smaller bedroom most people often think about bright colors with light hues, but also there is a stronger advantage for going darker and there is no better way to do that than with a black bed. Black is known to amplify small spaces and also set the right mood in your bedroom space. A black colored bed makes your bedroom fell more intimate and special in ways that you could have never imagined before, something that you would never achieve with any of those bright colors. There is nothing as important as setting the right mood in your bedroom especially if you are a couple since it’s the base of your relationship romantically. A black bed adds a touch of intrigue but still blends right into the bedroom décor colors creating a timeless look.

Platform

You may be looking for a bed that is timeless and cost-effective and maybe your life quote is "simplicity is beauty," then you can swear by platform beds. A platform bed is a simple bed frame that has a solid foundation capable to hold any type of mattress without the need of a box spring. It also comes with built-in slats to allow airflow and breathability. And since box springs are unnecessary, you can save money if you decide to buy a new mattress.

Though simple, it doesn't mean that this type of bed is boring. Platform beds come from various materials, such wood, metal, and fiberboard. You may even have them upholstered for an added classic touch! Ideal for all ages, they are also available in different sizes: twin, full, queen, and king. Interestingly, platform beds are great for storing extra stuff since many of them come with drawers and headboard shelving, perfect for keeping your bedroom tidy.

Storage Included

When your bedroom space is small storage can be the biggest challenge you will encounter. Your closet could be a solution but not big enough to pack so many clothes. Well, you may want to buy a bigger cabinet, but you don’t want to pack so many dressers and cabinets into your space that it feels clunky and crowded. Storage beds are a fantastic way to get more space without adding extra furniture, and a lot of them are so stylishly designed you almost don’t notice the drawers are there. This bed design offers a great way to make the most of the space in your room, giving you a place to stash clothes, bedding, and more inside or beneath your bed frame. The best storage beds feature spacious compartments that are easy to access, and with tons of styles to choose from. The most common options are shelves built into the headboard or drawers built into the frame below the mattress. Depending on the reason you want space, a storage bed provides easy access, but if you're storing items that you don't need to get to very often, you can opt for a spacious platform beneath the bed that can be accessed when you lift the mattress. Ultimately, your choice will come down to what's most convenient for you.

Making some of us to wonder what might be so great about these foam beds? And for sure it turns out to be a lot. One main reason is how a foam bed evenly distributes your weight and pressure over a specific point giving you as the sleeper a pressure relief point. Foam beds are known to last to a period of up to ten years making them very economical and beneficial. With such benefits in mind a foam bed can only be described as hybrid beds mainly due to their unmatched benefits. Plus with the latest foam technology a foam bed can help you keep you warm or cool depending on room temperature.

Metal

One of the most asked question when it comes metallic beds is, are they safe for younger children? And the answer is always, yes they are. One of reason to why metal beds have grown in popularity over the last couple of years is the fact that they require less maintenance since as we all know metal does not dent or scratch easily making it even a more attractive option as compared to wooden and plastic beds. When it comes to durability also metal beds are currently the most durable beds in the market more durable than the wooden beds and would even handle more weight than a wooden bed frame. Metal beds are also highly portable since they are lighter than other types of bed, and in case you are the kind of person who love rearranging their bedroom setup you will definitely love the metal bed.

Plastic

Plastic beds are very popular among families with a toddler. It’s usually low to the ground and perfectly fits a standard crib mattress. With plastic being pretty durable a plastic bed can last you for several years, especially if it’s your child bed. Unlike other beds plastic beds are really portable and you can easily move it around when you are rearranging your bedroom furniture. Plastic beds are usually very safe especially if you intend to get one for your child, as they have no rough edges or corners. Plastic beds are usually not tied to a specific theme making them ideal for younger children who are in the stage of self-discovery. Plastic bed also have a consumer friendly price as compared to some exotic wooden or metallic beds whose prices are usually on the higher side. For any parent looking for a bed for their young child I would definitely recommend a plastic bed.

Single Material

When you need to kick back and unwind on your own, you need a single-material bed. Single-material beds are an excellent choice for anyone that likes simplicity and practicality. Without combining materials, you get a clean and uniform looking bed that will match any bedroom. The con of a single-material bed is that they won’t stand out as much as other beds, but this can also be a pro as well, as it means they’ll easily blend into any room and not take attention away from other features that are nearby. The single-material is recommended if you’re after a bed for a minimalist setting, something that looks very simple and neutral - then you’re going to be satisfied by the single-material bed. Single-material beds also look great when you have two separate beds in the same room - the single-material look really gives the room a strong, matching and consistent appearance.

Steel

Unlike other kind of metallic beds a steel bed is entirely susceptible to developing rust. A steel bed is usually a simple, elegant bedroom furniture, plus no matter your bedroom style a steel bed will complement your style may it be modern, vintage, contemporary, etc. A steel bed design will make your bedroom look even more stylish and chic, and not forget with a steel bed you can easily change the color to match that of your bedroom walls. Industrial

Industrial style bedroom features a minimal, clutter free which gives a trendy look in the house. The design focuses on blending rough and raw materials with a clean décor. When designing the room you think of the space which should be open and airy and a showpiece relating to industry and fabrication. Over the stair top bedroom makes artwork the centrepiece. Clever inlets divide the bedside table with white bedding.

Futons and sofa cum beds are ideal for the industrial bedroom interior. Futons or sofa cum beds are used as a seating arrangement in the evening as well as sleeping and relaxing at night. They serve dual purpose and occupy less space to the bedroom and are also ideal for houses which do not have separate drawing area.

A frame bed is one of the beds which hold the mattresses. A frame bed can be made of wood or metal. It gives a modern and industrial look to the bedroom and gives a minimalistic touch to the bedroom.

Beds

A bed can be referred as a piece of furniture which is used as a place to fall asleep and relax. In this modern age beds consist of a soft cushioned mattress and a bed frame, the mattress is usually resting on a sprung base, solid base, or a wood slats. Beds come in different sizes ranging from infant-sized cribs to small beds that can just accommodate one person, to large king and queen sized beds designed for two or more people. Most bed are usually a single mattress and a fixed frame, however there are other varieties such as a sofa bed, which folds out of a sofa or a murphy bed that folds in to a wall. Other beds can be referred as temporary beds as they contain neither a bedframe nor a mattress, a good example is the inflatable air mattress or the folding camp cot.

Plastic

With an average of 5% usage increase per year, plastic or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) fabric is probably one of the most commonly used textile for bed upholstery in the world, proving its versatility. Also called as "vinyl," PVC is made from 57% chlorine (from salt) and 43% ethylene (from crude oil or sugar crops). You don't have to worry if a certain style is available; a plastic-upholstered bed has a wide variety of design and color choices, which means it looks good on any color scheme and theme. In addition, an everyday use is not a problem for this type of bed upholstery since plastic is designed to be stain-resistant and antimicrobial. It also has a promising strength, durability, and flexibility that can stand distortion and abrasion. Furthermore, many bed makers prefer PVC fabric because of its long lifespan and resistance to water and chemical, making it effortless to clean when your favorite drink spills over.
