To spite what others have said about vague instructions, they were very detailed for each and every step. I don't know how more detailed they could have been. Being a novice at building furniture, it took me about 1hr 30 minutes from the time I opened the box to the last part, putting the drawer in.The appearance is exactly like what you see in the picture - it looks far more expensive than it actually is in person. The only caveat being that it's 'pressed' wood, so it's not solid wood. If it were solid, it'd likely cost $800, not a couple hundred so that's why the price is low. Simply don't use chemical cleaners on it - you should be perfectly fine.I was impressed at how much thought came into this, all the hardware has covers for them so they disappear, doors have stoppers on them so when you close the doors you don't hear a bang, cord holes have caps with slits. It even comes with a touchup marker for scratches (great if you have pets or kids).I will absolutely recommend this brand, I can't express how impressed I am with it.. judging by some other reviews I was expecting worse.Read more

I needed an a/v cabinet with lots of shelves for components that could also accommodate a 60" flat panel TV. This unit was reasonably priced and shipped quickly. However, once received, I noticed the top piece was damaged and one of the sides appeared to have been previously assembled (cams already inserted; veneer cracked). Ordering replacement pieces was easy and they shipped quickly. However, the replacement top was damaged worse than the original. So using the original top and new side, I assembled the cabinet. I thought it was quite easy to assemble, actually. I hope the people who complained assembly was difficult never buy a bed from Ikea. Once assembled, I found the cabinet to be less sturdy than desired. To address this, I purchased a package of 4 flat L brackets and attached at each rear corner. This helped greatly. I then installed a 3/4" thick piece of trim wood spanning the back of the cabinet at the height of the drawer. This added further sturdiness and gave me a place to mount a racetrack for wiring. Lastly, I installed a 4' rope light in a mounting channel for ambient backlight. All in all, I am satisfied with the cabinet (after some cheap mods).

This a very heavy unit and it will take two people to bring the box in. There's a chance it will be damaged; mine was, but minor and it is in the back of the top, so nobody will see it. But it would have been a big issue had it happened somewhere in the front. Assembly takes about 2.5 hours and one person can do it. Doors will require some adjustments - all doable using screws in the hinges. I didn't use the back cover because if you have your gear to put in those side cabinets then the predrilled holes in the back are too small to feed the power and other cables through. Unless you want to cut bigger holes (I didn't) to make it work, this back cover is useless. So I decided to just leave the back open, thus eliminating any ventilation issues. But to reinforce the structure I had to install L and T-brackets around the back. That cemented the whole thing and made it wobble-proof. The finish is decent and on par with other units within this price range. Handles appear of good quality, as well. One thing worth to mention: the shelf in the middle can not be moved and you have 6 3/4 inches of actual height on top and 5 5/8 on the bottom. When I was ordering this, I just assumed the shelf would be movable. My center channel speaker luckily fits, otherwise it would have been a fiasco. If this limitation is of no concern, it is easy to recommend this stand.

This is an excellent stand for my TV. It looks great, plenty of room and came in great condition. It is a little heavy, so when I move I know I will wish it was made out of balsa wood, but since it normally just sits there, well, its weight doesn't matter. There are holes at the back for the cords and 2 adjustable shelves. The drawer works great. It came exactly as advertised.-1 star. Here is the problem. Overall this is easy to assemble. BUT they make you hammer in the hinge to the glass doors. SERIOUSLY? Everywhere else you get to screw things in and then they decide, hey, the best way to attach a hinge to a glass door is a HAMMER? It did not break, but that was 5 minutes of grueling nervousness as I am swinging my hammer at a glass door. NOT COOL. And I never got the hinge in all the way. I just got to a point where I thought, nope I am done swinging. I will make this work.(one note. before you nail in the back panel, stand it up straight. no matter how perfectly square you think you have it, it is not enough. stand it up that way the panel will not warp when you do stand it up.)Read more

Received the cabinet and the box was fairly dented in. But everything inside was ok... except for the back panel. That had a dent but it wasn't completely broken so I just popped it back into place.I have a 7.5-inch height Onkyo receiver and the way this was constructed, there was no way it would fit. So I slightly amended the shelf height which was easy enough if you have some aptitude for putting these types of things together.Additionally, kind of wish the back cord ports were larger. with a receiver there are a lot of wires going in and out. Would have been nice to have a slightly larger port. The shelf and the ports are the only reason for the 4 instead of 5. Other than that, it looks great and feels really sturdy.I would recommend this. I love reading reviews so I thought this might help.
