This day bed with trundle attachment is perfect for our guest room. One recommendation would be to make sure your mattress size (for the trundle bed) is not more than 8 inches. Our ten inch mattress was too high so we had to put the legs on 2x4 blocks to increase the height so the mattress would clear the bed frame when closing. The ten inch mattress on the top bed was perfect. Pros: Good quality, looks good. Just what we were looking for. Fairly priced. Cons: Directions that were included were not easy to follow. It took my husband and I two hours to assemble. The color of the frame is darker than it appeared onlin.

The Wayfair website said this item would be ready to ship in two weeks, but there was a delay, and in fact it did not ship until nearly a month after I ordered it. The shipping process itself was farcical, the tracking page indicating that the item sat in various terminals across the country (the last one a mere hour from my house) for several days before being picked up and moved on again. Tracking updates, to boot, only told me where the item had been several days before, not where it was currently or when it would arrive at my doorstep. I ordered this bed in late August for a guest who would be arriving on the first day of October; it finally came several days after he did. When I complained to Wayfair, they did issue me a 10% refund on the purchase. That would have been the end of the matter, except that the manufacturer shipped a wrong part - two left-hand sides of the daybed, rather than a right and a left - so it was impossible to put the bed together. Once again I complained to Wayfair. No discount this time; instead they said the manufacturer would have to ship out the entire bed frame again as otherwise there might be a variation in the color. The replacement frame finally arrived on November 2nd, two full months after I ordered it, and a month after I needed it.The bed itself looks nice enough once assembled, though beware that the popup trundle is a generic black metal piece that does not match the larger bed. I wish I could send it back, as it's dangerous. The actual bases where the mattresses rest (on both the trundle and main bed) are made of metal springs and wires, just waiting to snag a sheet (or worse, your finger). The frame also has some sharpish metal parts on it and I've already sliced my hand open while making up the bed. I would not recommend this for a children's room as there are too many metal crevices for little fingers to get stuck, pinched or otherwise injured. The assembly instructions are utterly inexplicable (and I have put together many flatpack items, some with hundreds of pieces). The instructions included pertain to the regular version of this bed (with a footboard and headboard), not the daybed, so they are completely useless. Fortunately there aren't that many parts, so we figured it out, but if you're not very good at this sort of thing, avoid - there's also no number to call if you get stuck. So, if you want to wait two months for an overpriced daybed that looks nice but causes injuries, by all means order this one.
