After reading a few lackluster buyer reviews for this bed (about receiving ill-fitting hardware or damaged pieces), I hoped that my purchase wouldn't result in it being returned. I'm VERY glad I took the leap, this bed is great! I like it's design (finding a bed with a well engineered slanted headboard isn't easy). All things considered, I feel this bed is a good value - nicely finished quality hard woods, easy assembly, practically stylish - it's exactly what I was looking for. My only suggestion is it would be nice if a ratchet allen wrench were included (an allen is included), but really no complaints, at all.

Four stars are to balance the other reviews into something acceptable as an overall product rating. This bed came in two boxes, one was in absolute rubbish condition, shredded open in transit with a part of the headboard exposed. FedEx considers this an acceptable delivery condition. Half of the hardware had fallen out of the other box. The nitty gritty:-Beautiful bed. Once assembled and doctored (rating for 500 lbs - a mattress takes one hundred and I'm 6'1", 260 pounds, I'm just a dense individual, which leaves 100 pounds after our 40 pound dog) this bed looks fantastic and can easily hold the weight stated. The grey is nice, very firm but with some give, and the wood is a nice satin ish finish.-If parts had not been broken or lost by FedEx, assembly would have been a breeze, until I hit the middle support beam. More on that later.-I am not a woodworker or a finish Craftsman. I'm very handy though, and that's where this bed required effort. With half the hardware missing, I had to know what to look for at the hardware store to replace it. Wayfair was willing to ship a replacement kit out, but it wouldn't be here in time for the mattress delivery. Very helpful staff :). However, FedEx broke the alignment dowels off, and these had to be drilled out and replaced. They do not hold weight or keep the bed together, they're there to help you put the bed together. However, here's where it gets bad. The middle support was not the right size or height. The leg was 2" too tall, and the beam (which was originally notched correctly) had been filled back in and was 3/8" too tall, so the slats rocked back and forth and the bed would have a hill in the middle.I could have cut the notches back out and cut the leg to size (9 &3/8") and left it, and it would be a ok. However if you have a solid (pine or better) 2x2, a chisel, a drill, and three 3.5" bolts with washers and nuts you can make this bed apocalypse proof. I notched the ends of the 2x2(cut to length of the original middle beam) to be 1.25 inches wide (1/8 off each side) and 1.25 inches tall (1/4 off the bottom), drilled (3) 5/16 holes along the length evenly spaced, and cut 3 9" pieces from the center beam supplied, drilled those to go flush with the beam top nailed a glide to the bottom, and bolted them together. This makes this bed rock solid. With basic wood skills, this bed is indestructible, and I hope this gets passed onto the manufacturer.TL;DR this bed might be delivered damaged as the other reviewer got one like that as well, but if it's intact upon arrival, enjoy your beautiful bed. If you have woodworking skills, this bed is 100% for you as with a few extra quid you'll have an amazing, beautiful bed.

The bed is beautiful in concept however, when we received the item, parts of the frame were either broken or missing. I think that the bed is of decent quality, but I think it experienced major neglect and mistreatment during the shipping process

When I received the packages for this bed, they were ripped and I was afraid that screws had fallen out. When I opened the packages, I found no instructions for how to put together the bed. Looking on Wayfair's website, there was similarly no manual for how to build the bed.
