I have never shopped so much online for just one item like I did for this! I was about to give up and keep our mattress on the floor bc this was my last resort as I had already bought, assembled and dragged another one to USPS to rtn - I'm so glad I ended up making the purchase here. I read through every review and felt really supported by the manufactures responses and HM's for any complaints. It took longer to arrive but once it was here - It was very easy to put together and very sturdy because my bones are heavy...lol

This bed frame was very easy to assemble. The 16" height makes it easy to get on the mattress, provides more storage underneath the frame, and does not need a box spring. I have had this for one month and really enjoy sleeping on my bed.

The assembly of this Zinus metal platform bed frame seems to be daunting after you open the box and view the non written, pictures only, instructions however, once you get started and take your time it goes together well. Note: bolts must be tightened which leads to a slight misalignment and my husband and I had to wrestle with the long bars a bit to get them straight. After that..it was all good. Definitely a two person job.I was surprised by the sticky tape on four of the slats and after removing the top plastic strips I realized this held my queen size mattress in place. Quite brilliant really. This product is a good choice for people not wanting expensive platforms for their mattresses.

I am completely thrilled with this product! The manufacturer clearly cares about the experiences of its customers, because they put a lot of care and consideration into designing an assembly manual and process that virtually guarantee success. The manual is full of clear, easy-to-understand illustrations, all the parts have letter and number stickers on them to make it easy to understand which parts they are, and which parts they need to be attached to, and all necessary tools are included in the box. Those tools include a small ratchet wrench with an allen head on it. Also, you get extra nuts and bolts, so if you lose a few, you can still complete the assembly process.Thank you Zinus Van, for making such a great product, and making it so easy to assemble. I've suffered through the process of trying to assemble furniture from other manufacturers, and the difference with your product is MUCH appreciated!

Very well engineered, thoughtful design. Extremely easy to put together. It would be simpler with a second person, but I assembled it solo with no real problems. Plenty storage underneath.

I purchased the frame to go with a new mattress for a spare bedroom. The metal is poorly welded and the screws either do not have enough tread on them OR they strip as they are being screwed into place. Pieces of the frame literally fell apart as my guests were in the bed! This was very embarrassing.

How wide are the steel slats and how far apart are they spaced?
They are far enough apart that you can stand between them when you put them in place, but they're closer together than I expected!
1 Helpful 1
How wide are the steel slats and how far apart are they spaced?
The slats are about 2" wide and they are about 12-14inches apart
1 Helpful 1
How wide are the steel slats and how far apart are they spaced?
I had asked how WIDE the slats are, not how THICK they are. The reason is to consider the support for a mattress. If someone could tell me how WIDE the slats are, to go with the 6.5" spacing between them, I would appreciate it. 1" wide and 6.5" apart would seem to be insufficient support in my opinion.

Does the mattress fit down in the frame? It's hard to see in the pictures.
No, it sits on top of the frame. There are two slats on each side of the middle that have a sticky strip to stop the mattress from sliding should you choose to use them. I have not and have not noticed an issue with slipping.

King

A king size bed is the largest standard bed that you will find in the market plus it measures 76 inches by 80 inches, making it a great and popular choice among couple. Single sleepers with the proper finances also enjoy the luxury and comfort of having a huge bed all to themselves. The King Size bed also comes in different variations which are the California size bed that’s 4 inches longer than a normal king size bed and 4 inches narrower, another variation is the California king size bed, the ideal choice if you are sharing your bed with someone who is more than 6 feet tall. If you are couple looking for a bed with extra comfort and space for the both of you I would highly recommend the King size bed as it’s a combination of unmatched comfort and luxury.

Twin

A Twin bed also referred to as a single bed is one of the smallest bed in the market with a dimension of 38’’ by 75’’. Its compact size makes it ideal for single sleepers may it be children or an adult living in a small space such as a studio apartment. It’s an affordable and versatile bed set up for various sleepers such as toddlers and college student in the dorm. For over several decades it has been one of the most popular beds among college students and young children in their early teens as you can find it in most of their bedrooms, however in this modern age where people are seeking for more comfort and space, the popularity of twin beds is been over taken by queen size beds. Despite being great for growing children it’s also very flexible and versatile especially if you are trying to maximize the space in your bedroom.

Black

When trying to open up a smaller bedroom most people often think about bright colors with light hues, but also there is a stronger advantage for going darker and there is no better way to do that than with a black bed. Black is known to amplify small spaces and also set the right mood in your bedroom space. A black colored bed makes your bedroom fell more intimate and special in ways that you could have never imagined before, something that you would never achieve with any of those bright colors. There is nothing as important as setting the right mood in your bedroom especially if you are a couple since it’s the base of your relationship romantically. A black bed adds a touch of intrigue but still blends right into the bedroom décor colors creating a timeless look.

Platform

You may be looking for a bed that is timeless and cost-effective and maybe your life quote is "simplicity is beauty," then you can swear by platform beds. A platform bed is a simple bed frame that has a solid foundation capable to hold any type of mattress without the need of a box spring. It also comes with built-in slats to allow airflow and breathability. And since box springs are unnecessary, you can save money if you decide to buy a new mattress.

Though simple, it doesn't mean that this type of bed is boring. Platform beds come from various materials, such wood, metal, and fiberboard. You may even have them upholstered for an added classic touch! Ideal for all ages, they are also available in different sizes: twin, full, queen, and king. Interestingly, platform beds are great for storing extra stuff since many of them come with drawers and headboard shelving, perfect for keeping your bedroom tidy.

Slat

A good bed must always have a strong base. The slat bed design is a type of base made for a bed. They are a series of connected bars that lie across the width of the frame. The designs offer great support for the mattress, hence providing good support to your back when sleeping and allows good ventilation to the mattress. Good ventilation for the mattress keeps them cleaner and more hygienic. The slats are made from strong wood ensuring the durability of your bed. These bases provide good firm support and are a simple and cheaper option. The slatted design comes in two designs to choose from. You can choose from two types of slats - solid slats or sprung slats. They also offer a good leveling of your mattress, allowing it to last longer.

Storage Included

When your bedroom space is small storage can be the biggest challenge you will encounter. Your closet could be a solution but not big enough to pack so many clothes. Well, you may want to buy a bigger cabinet, but you don’t want to pack so many dressers and cabinets into your space that it feels clunky and crowded. Storage beds are a fantastic way to get more space without adding extra furniture, and a lot of them are so stylishly designed you almost don’t notice the drawers are there. This bed design offers a great way to make the most of the space in your room, giving you a place to stash clothes, bedding, and more inside or beneath your bed frame. The best storage beds feature spacious compartments that are easy to access, and with tons of styles to choose from. The most common options are shelves built into the headboard or drawers built into the frame below the mattress. Depending on the reason you want space, a storage bed provides easy access, but if you're storing items that you don't need to get to very often, you can opt for a spacious platform beneath the bed that can be accessed when you lift the mattress. Ultimately, your choice will come down to what's most convenient for you.

When it comes to durability also metal beds are currently the most durable beds in the market more durable than the wooden beds and would even handle more weight than a wooden bed frame. Metal beds are also highly portable since they are lighter than other types of bed, and in case you are the kind of person who love rearranging their bedroom setup you will definitely love the metal bed.

Single Material

When you need to kick back and unwind on your own, you need a single-material bed. Single-material beds are an excellent choice for anyone that likes simplicity and practicality. Without combining materials, you get a clean and uniform looking bed that will match any bedroom. The con of a single-material bed is that they won’t stand out as much as other beds, but this can also be a pro as well, as it means they’ll easily blend into any room and not take attention away from other features that are nearby. The single-material is recommended if you’re after a bed for a minimalist setting, something that looks very simple and neutral - then you’re going to be satisfied by the single-material bed. Single-material beds also look great when you have two separate beds in the same room - the single-material look really gives the room a strong, matching and consistent appearance.

Everyone wishes for a bedroom that looks like those found in the glossy pages of a home décor magazine, but due to budget constrains many people are not to achieve such a look. If you didn’t know it’s still possible to give your bedroom that expensive look and feel at a low budget which is achieved using the classic style. A classic styled bedroom is all about the details. However one thing you should note is that your bedroom will never look or feel classic as long as it’s dirty or filled with clutter no matter how much you spend decorating the bedroom. In order to incorporate that classic style into your bedroom you should ensure that your bedroom has the needed amount of space as we all know any luxurious looking bedroom should have that feeling of more floor space.

Beds

A bed can be referred as a piece of furniture which is used as a place to fall asleep and relax. In this modern age beds consist of a soft cushioned mattress and a bed frame, the mattress is usually resting on a sprung base, solid base, or a wood slats. Beds come in different sizes ranging from infant-sized cribs to small beds that can just accommodate one person, to large king and queen sized beds designed for two or more people.
