Willow Dresser in Distressed Pine review
BB&B Customer

Delivery guy left this huge box in the driveway. Didn't even attempt to bring it up to the house even though the delivery method clearly states "entryway delivery". Took my husband and I forever to get it inside. Dresser itself is beautiful and very well made, but I won't buy anything else from BB&B after this incident.

So, when my dresser was delivered, all the handles were screwed in on the inside rather than the outside. And I found one of my drawers was off, the inner track was either broken or needed to be tightened and put back in track. Problem was, the drawer itself wouldn’t come out. All in all, it was too much of a hassle, and I returned it. I will say the Bed Bath and Beyond customer service was very good and for everything being handled over the phone/email.

Distressed Finish

If you love art and love your furniture to look outstanding and different from the normal chest and dresser, then a distressed finish is a perfect choice. The distressed finish is a technique that is used to give new furniture an aged appearance. With this finish on a dresser and chest, it creates a welcoming ambiance that makes it a focal point of view or admiration. This feature is also eye-catching because users can customize it by their wish or preference. Old dresser and chest can also be renewed, and one can give them a distressed look. In distressing, the object's finish is intentionally destroyed or manipulated to look less than perfect. Distressing can also be viewed as a refinishing technique although it is the opposite of finishing in a traditional sense. The details of distressed finish tend to manipulate our minds by making users admire every chest and dresser.

Medium Density Fiberboard

Medium-density fiberboard is a material that consists of recycled solid wood leftovers, resin, and fibers all glued up together with wax. One huge advantage of a medium-density fiberboard dresser is that it is quite affordable as compared to solid wood dressers. This is because medium density fiberboards are readily available in the market. In addition, it's quite easy to paint when it comes to customizing your medium density fiberboard dresser, unlike a solid wood dresser. It also comes with its own disadvantages, such as it's relatively easy to damage, especially if you have little kids who are always playing around the house. Unlike most people would imagine, a medium-density fiberboard dresser is relatively heavier than a solid wood dresser, making it quite hard to move around when you rearrange your space. Plus, it cannot support too much weight as it risks breaking down.

Wood

Wood is classified into two major categories, that's is softwood and hardwood. Softwood is easier to work with hence making elegant dressers and chests in your room. On the other hand, hardwood is the most durable material when it comes to furniture making. Wood is well treated to the longevity of dressers & chests. Users can pick either softwood or hardwood for their preference. Both kinds of wood need care and maintenance and from time to time wipe your wood perfectly. If you love personalized touch in your dressers and chest, you can always go for these materials because it's easier to work with compared to metals. Wood does not rust but if not well treated it can get attacked by wold borers or termites. A wooden dresser can be enhanced by applying a finish to give your dresser an attractive final look. Wood is sturdy and durable hence making your dresser & chest give you service for decades.

9

Nine drawers dressers and chests can be aligned in different styles. To start with drawers made using nine drawers can be divided into three rows and columns. This way users have the advantage to store multiple clothes in different sections of the dresser. Since most dressers are short and wide, having a nine drawers dresser will give you the freedom to have a large surface top for working or placing your items or mirror when working or doing make-up for ladies. Having such a big number of drawers also displays boldness and organization. People will tell you that the more the number of drawers the cleaner your bedroom, because you won't clutter your room. Also, the view displayed by these drawers is amazingly beautiful as the patterns are many and the sense of having many knobs of the drawers makes it even more attractive. This works the same for the chest, however, the chest will be taller hence may make it harder for young ones to open it.

Country/Farmhouse

A country or farmhouse furniture design is a design style that encompasses different cultures that ranges from the French country culture which compromises of linen fabric with hues of bright blues and yellows, to the English country culture that mainly involve floral patterns and stripe, to the American culture that mainly put emphasis on earth tones. These are just a few cultures a country or farmhouse furniture comprises of as it also compromises of other different cultural designs around the world. If you are in the market for a dresser that captures different cultural designs then a country or farmhouse dresser or chest is a good representation of that. Country or farmhouse dresser or chest create a warm and welcoming environment especially after a long day’s work. It also good to note that this style works best with traditional architectural designs or décor.

Many vintage dressers are lighter in tone/color (beige, white, or robin’s egg blue), or feature a distressed paint finish. A vintage chest or dresser is also typically adorned with elegant and ornate hardware elements and intricate woodworking designs and patterns. A vintage chest or dresser would make a stunning addition and complement to a variety of home décor motifs, including antique, traditional, and coastal/farmhouse. Beyond mere tradition, wood construction in dressers is simply the most versatile and reliable building material. While the majority of dressers will be wood, there are notable exceptions and eye-catching in a room, making them a focal point of admiration. They are also meant to provide a space you can dress in front of the top serves as a table to place clothes and space for a mirror. The overall design of a dresser is its most defining feature, giving way to the considerations of build, style, and any other features. Dressers function perfectly in a bedroom, where you or your guest can have easier access to clothes or mirrors if installed.

Pine

Pine wood is a popular choice for furniture making. This softwood variety is easy to work with, dense, and doesn’t split easily. Pine wood has a light-colored appearance with plenty of wood grains and knots throughout the wood, making it a distinctive wood type. Pine wood dressers or chests are often available with intricate wood work or fine details, as pine wood (being a softwood variety) is very malleable and can maintain its strength. The light, naturally bright tone of pine wood makes it a beautiful complement to a range of home décor motifs, including traditional/classic, coastal, boho/eclectic, and minimalist. The appearance of pine is more minimalistic compared to other wood types, like Maple or Oak, which is more traditional. Pine is a strong and resilient wood type, making it a great choice for a dresser or chest. The natural beauty of pine will enhance a calm and serene ambience in your home living spaces and will provide a gorgeous focal point in your home.

Softwoods

Softwoods are wood types that come from conifer trees, such as fir, cedar, and spruce. Softwood tree types grow faster than hardwood, and are less dense than hardwood types, as a result, softwoods are easier to work with in terms of craftsmanship; you can add gorgeous hardware to further enhance the look of the furniture. Softwood dressers and chests have a lower risk of splitting when inserting nails or screws, making it an ideal choice for use in furniture pieces. Softwood dressers tend to be less expensive than other wood types, as softwood trees grow faster than hardwood trees. Softwood dressers vary in appearance; softwoods such as pine have plenty of knots throughout the wood grain, making it an ideal choice to enhance a rustic design style. Softwood dressers or chests also have a classic wood smell, which can enhance a cozy atmosphere in your home. The three types of softwood that are most often used for furniture making are pine, fir and cedar. Each of these wood types is beautiful, rich and warm. Any dresser or chest made from a softwood wood type will enhance a cozy and elegant style.
