The slats are strung together so you don't have to worry about spacing them incorrectly and having to redo it. I didn't have a problem putting the casing on like others have mentioned. It fit perfectly. The screws and allen wrench is sealed in a package so it is nearly impossible to not receive what you need. Even a child could put this together. Highly recommended.

Pic #1. The assembled foundationPic #2. The bed it went onThis product is amazing. I was initially very hesitant to purchase something like a box spring / mattress foundation online. The local furniture stores were offering 2 twin size box springs for my King size bed. (I previously owned a Queen size bed and had newly purchased a King size). The prices for the box springs / foundations were easily $250+. This one instead was half the price. I must say it is TOTALLY WORTH IT.PACKAGINGPerfect condition. Safely put together, so as to not damage the product. Comes with the nuts & bolts, an Allen key to help assemble the piece a good quality cover and an extremely easy image guide.ASSEMBLYAssembling the product was so much fun. I literally finished it in less than 15 mins without the help of my husband. YES! This can be done by 1 person.SIZESome review do state that the king size foundation was smaller than the bed. But do not worry, once you put your mattress over it, it is not at all an issue. Personally I fee it's a good thing that there is some space on the four sides.FINAL VERDICTIt has been roughly 2 months size we bought this product and I do not regret it one bit. It does not creak considering that it is made of metal. It is surely wayyyyyyy better than the wooden box springs out there. AGAIN - totally worth every penny. Would definitely recommend this product and would buy it again if need be.Read more

This thing is great. We bought an extremely expensive latex mattress about 5 yrs ago, but the crappy boxspring that came with it squeaked HORRIBLY. This is heavier than our old one, but very sturdy. It took me about 30 min. to assemble, all pieces were labeled and the instructions were clear (be careful of what side goes up, this is not clear.) Yes, the cover completely encloses the boxspring. No, the slats don't shift around or make noise, the velcro is weird and makes a strange prickly sound, but once the weight of the mattress is on it, no noise at all. Pictures are during assembly, you can see its made of only a few total pieces and assembly is simple, plus the wood slats are attached to one long piece of velcro, so you don't have to measure spacing. You just line up the end slat with the beginning of the velcro on the boxspring and roll it out onto the top.

I recently bought a new 12" inch hybrid mattress, half memory foam and half spring. I read about how a mattress foundation really determines the performance and longevity of your mattress. Some people buy a new mattress and can't get comfortable and then assume it's the mattress. However, the discomfort may due to the mattress foundation you're using. I was using a brand new 9" inch box spring foundation. I was experiencing a little discomfort with my mattress. I suspected that it could be the support of the mattress.Upon my research I learned that the best foundation support for memory foam and hybrid mattresses are wood slatted foundations. So I searched Amazon and found the Zinus 7.5 Inch Metal Frame Wood Slat foundation. It arrived promptly and was very easy to puck together. I assembled it in about 20 mins. The foundation is sturdy and strong. It fits perfectly. My bed looks great now. This foundation added better support and comfort to my mattress. I'm so glad I purchased this foundation. I slept like a baby! No more squeaky springs.

Got this to use as a box spring base for my new Ghostbed mattress. Since most internet-ordered foam mattresses are essentially the same, I assume my advice here may be suitable for others also thinking of using this for Casper, Leesa, Purple, Tuft, Tempurpedic, Helix, etc.The box spring itself is incredible easy and quick to put together. The price is also great. I highly recommend this as a generic box spring. A word of caution for the foam people though - the slats on this item are 3 inches apart. Someone else guesstimated they were 2.5" and I purchased the item based on their guess. Well, I actually measured it with a ruler once I got it and the slats themselves are 3" wide and the space between them is also 3". This might be a hiccup because I emailed Ghostbed the company and they prefer a 2-inch or closer slat foundation, well tighter than the 3 inches this provides. Since all of the foam mattresses are essentially the same, the other companies likely have the same requirements. I am keeping this item regardless since I only have a full mattress (which is still quite heavy) but it's only being used by my very small daughter for the next few years. I'm hoping it'll be OK, but if you're in the market for a foundation for your new internet foam bed, I would recommend looking around to see if you can find any other box springs with closer-together slats.Read more

Is it okay to use a metal frame for a latex mattress? (Edges being too thin.) Would you recommend an all-wood version box spring?
It would be fine to use this frame with a latex or other all-foam mattress. The framework is metal, but the mattress itself rests on a lattice of wood slats that are set in channels on top of the framework.

Seller lists width of slats at 2.75" and space between them as 4.2", is this correct? In the pictures, slats are much wider than space between them.
The slat spacing for the QUEEN size is 2.56". The width of the slats is 3.03".
