Atlantic 4 Tier Rotating Cube Espresso

I like how this looks and fits DVDs perfectly. It was easy to put together - although not done in 10 minutes like one reviewer said. The instructions were very clear and all parts there. Mine is already loaded with DVDs and it is somewhat difficult to turn with all the weight - especially the bottom cube. But not so hard that I have to strain. I attached photos showing how the cubes stack. There is a center plastic piece that lines the cube up to the one on top and spaces is a little above so it turns, as well as 4 foam pads that you stick on the outer edges to also create a gap between the two so that they turn. It the foam pads were slicker, it may turn easier so we may stick something slicker on top of those. It is also a little wobbly like another reviewer said. It won't topple with normal usage but if someone fell into it or pushed it just a little harder than normal I could see it falling. It works well for what DVD storage. I'm not spinning it often and it's not in an area that will be likely for someone to knock into it so not worried about the little wobbliness either. I took a photo of it next to a counter height bar stool to give it a little scale since many reviewers made comments about it looking smaller than they expected. It looked like what I expected and yes, there is storage on both sides of each cube.

Easy to assemble, all parts nicely labeled and easy to identify, took about an hour (you do need your own screwdriver). Be warned that it's quite heavy, close to 30 pounds, so just getting it out of the box involved a perilous sliding adventure. Be sure to set it on a stable table. All parts were in flawless condition (espresso brown, no wood grain), but the pressboard quality was rather rough such that the holes weren't as smooth as one would like, hence one star off. But the pegs and screws seated well enough, so this was not a big deal. As with any pressboard construction, one should probably be extra careful to avoid bumping the edges during assembly, and although the finish is nice it isn't the toughest, so beware of scratching it. Once it's assembled, these issues shouldn't matter. I went slow and had no problems.Stands about 37" fully assembled, which makes it rather a monolith. (I found it too tall for its location on an island entertainment center, so I divided it in half so that two two-box sets sit side by side, but obviously that's not the usual aim.) The boxes rotate smoothly and easily: nice to have the option to have different access angles. But don't expect it to spin. It's too heavy. Moving the angles of a box calls for a gentle two-hand maneuver, and realistically you wouldn't want to have to do this too frequently. Good for adults and careful kids but not the clumsy end of the human spectrum. And if some child or klutz pulled it over--which would take quite a serious tug--it's heavy enough to really hurt someone.In sum, nice shelves, surprisingly heavy, suitable for modern adult decor.Read more

How do you purchase this after reading the reviews. I do not think this is easy to assemble. I had help assembling this but it still took a long time. It was hard to manipulate the screwdriver inside the box which you have to do. For the most part the screws lined with the holes but the plastic feet screwing them into those holes was really hard and I don’t think the holes were large enough it created a big mess. The cube stack but they don’t lock into place at all so it is wobbly. I will put this near the TV because I’m afraid it could fall into it in Cause some real damage .

OK this is a cheap media storage solution, it holds a decent amount of media I purchased two one had flaws on the white dividers not seen once media installed so I did not bother to ask for replacement dividers they were both shipped in retail boxes which made them affordable yet both boxes arrived with puncture holes thankfully all the holes were in places where there were voids and nothing to get damaged.These are not shelf's you would want around young children as they could be easily knocked over. if your adults and need a decent solution for media and other clutter this is a great item as things you need near by but out of sight can be placed in the back sides. 3 stars given because the main fasteners screw into plastic inserts these screw will not tighten up even with just slight torque on a screw driver they just spin.
