My house predates closets, so I was eager to find a way to shrink my furniture footprint - hard to find room for a dresser or drawer chest when you're filling your walls with closet substitutes to hang things. I ordered the full bookcase captain's bed with two drawer units for the 12 total. It arrived on time and the pieces inside were as described. You will need a drill! And you may need an extra pair of hands at a couple of points. However, all five feet of me were able to assemble it mostly by myself, and if my tiny house didn't have such tiny rooms, I probably wouldn't have needed a second person to help maneuver pieces to the right places. After a couple of months of use, it's still holding together beautifully, despite the great likelihood that I assembled something wrong. We're two adults sleeping on it, along with the weight of a third adult in the form of three spoiled cats, and it handles the weight well.I'm very happy with it, and proud of myself for assembling it. If the company would make a matching wardrobe for those of us without closets, I'd happily buy one (hint!!!).Read more

I gave this bed 4 stars because the finished product is a pretty decent piece of furniture, especially when you consider the price. Having said that there were a couple of problems that kept it from being 5 stars, and a few tips that might help some people who choose to order it.First of all, shipping and delivery were great. The freight forwarder (ABF) worked with me as soon as the order was received, and they were able to get it to me almost two full weeks before the scheduled delivery date from Amazon. The dispatcher and driver were very helpful, and worked with my very difficult delivery location. The boxes were intact and undamaged. The furniture itself is pretty well finished. Some slight imperfections that you would probably find in more expensive pieces as well. Nothing that is very noticeable or would require correction by any but the most picky customers. The pieces are all real wood - no particle board, MDF or OSB. A little plywood for the drawer bottoms, which are just a bit thin, but everything else is actual lumber (not sure what species, but some of the drawer assembly pieces are common pine or spruce. As previously stated, everything arrived undamaged, with one major exception, which is the reason I couldn't give it 5 stars. I got the 12 drawer full size model, and one of the 6 drawer units was in perfect condition. The other looked like it had been assembled by a someone who just didn't care. 10 of the screws where the drawer guides fastened to the support pieces had to be replaced. The assembler had driven the screws at an angle that caused the support pieces to split and splinter. Many of the screws were only loosely inserted or had fallen out completely. All but one of these occurrences were in the back, where the imperfections are ultimately invisible. One was in the front, though, but the visible portion is mostly hidden by a drawer front.I know other people have identified and photographed these same problems, and I'm sure if I had complained the company would have sent a replacement drawer unit. Luckily I'm pretty handy, so I was able to fix the problems without too much trouble. All I did was remove the short screws they had used and broke off the loose splinters and chips of wood. I then drilled the holes deeper into the supports and substituted some longer wood screws I had laying around. The result is everything works fine, and you would have to know where to look to find the one front flaw. Took about an hour to fix, but if you aren't comfortable with this level of repair it could be worse.Once the drawer unit was repaired, the actual assembly took about an hour and a half. All the hardware was there and the instructions, which were all pictures, were nonetheless clear and easy to follow. For some reason, the pages were stapled together out of order, but the steps were numbered anyway. Interestingly the parts card had one spot labeled "spare hardware", which contained just one nut and bolt for fastening the side rails to the head/foot boards. Coincidentally, one of the original nuts in the group of eight of these was mis-threaded, and I damaged the bolt trying to force them to work. Funny that the one spare they included happened to be the one spare I needed. Finally, a few things I did that others might find helpful. First of all, if you aren't using a cordless electric screwdriver you should be, and you can save a lot of time by getting a hex bit that fits the bolts they provide. It would be nice if they included one in addition to the little Allen wrench they give you. If you have to tighten all the bolts using that wrench, though, add about a half hour to the assembly. Second, if you think you might use the shelves in the headboard for anything electrical, get a couple of desk grommets. It's easier and less messy to hole-saw for these before the headboard is assembled, and the finished look is worth the few bucks they cost. Finally, I bought a whole bunch of the adhesive backed furniture sliders that are a half inch wide by 4 inches long. Before assembly I put them all along the bottom edges of every piece that contacts the floor. I think I used 16 for each drawer unit, and a few more for the head and foot boards. Cost about $15 on Amazon and took a few minutes to apply, but now I can slide the entire unit around if I need to. If you don't do that, you better do the assembly pretty much right where you want it to stay. One last comment about the quality control of the item. The majority of the pieces came from Vietnam, and they had no problems. However, on the side of each drawer unit box were the words "Assembled in USA". Ironically, this is where all of my problems were found, and most other people's problems, from what I read in other reviews. In retrospect, I should have taken pictures of the damage, my repairs, and my modifications, but I didn't, and I'm not going to take anything apart to go back and get some.Read more

We got the full bed with 12 drawers (6 on each side). The bed “looks “ very nice. It is much higher than expected at 31” high with a medium height mattress. The finish color is better than in the stock photos. Quality is just ok and should be much better. We like that it is “real wood” but some of the wood is too soft, hence the ripped out screw holes, and the drawers and rollers are very light weight ( we might replace drawer bottoms to make them sturdier). The headboard/bookcase and it’s 2 shelves came damaged. We ordered the white-glove service where the delivery guys unpack the pieces outside and bring the pieces inside. I’m really surprised neither one of them said anything about the headboard because it’s clearly damaged. Replacement is hopefully on the way. One of the side standards is also scarred up, but it faces the wall so, oh well. You might want to look over all the pieces that came assembled. A few of the crossmembers to the drawer units were seriously crooked, some were sideways, we unscrewed them, drilled new holes, and screwed them back. There were two other places, crucial places, where the drill holes had been ripped out, and the screws were spinning in place. We had to figure out how to move those brackets and screws to avoid the damaged screw holes. Since the headboard is the last thing to assemble and does not affect the structure of the bed, we went ahead with assembly. The nuts, bolts, plugs, etc. came nicely packaged and easy to see exactly what you have and there is extra pieces. We needed a Phillips screw driver and a small wrench (there are 2 bolts), it came with an Allen wrench. I used a low power battery screw driver AND I used a small drill as several holes were not drilled. Instructions were ok. It’s best to walk thru all the instructions before starting INCLUDING steps to attach drawers to the frame.Bed is assembled and we put the broken headboard/bookcase on temporarily. No harm in that. “Looks” very nice.I might think better of it had it been made of better wood and had there not been broken/damaged pieces, but as that is not the case I have to say that I would not get this bed again. I thought about returning it before assembly BUT our kid had been waiting way too long ( first bed ordered was damaged, or lost by shipper or whatever). And, other beds similar to this in the furniture stores are composite fake wood and or have drawers only on one side and a gaping hole in the other (yuk) - and they won’t let you get another set of drawers for the side with the gaping hole (why not?) AND this bed has the much anticipated center storage accessible via the door at the foot of the bed.So, here it is. See my many photos. Now we just need full sized bedding.Read more

A Full / Double bed is a bed meant for couples to share, however with the emergence of so many size options full-double beds are now mainly meant for single sleepers. Storage Included

When your bedroom space is small storage can be the biggest challenge you will encounter. Your closet could be a solution but not big enough to pack so many clothes. Well, you may want to buy a bigger cabinet, but you don’t want to pack so many dressers and cabinets into your space that it feels clunky and crowded. Storage beds are a fantastic way to get more space without adding extra furniture, and a lot of them are so stylishly designed you almost don’t notice the drawers are there. The best storage beds feature spacious compartments that are easy to access, and with tons of styles to choose from. The most common options are shelves built into the headboard or drawers built into the frame below the mattress. Depending on the reason you want space, a storage bed provides easy access, but if you're storing items that you don't need to get to very often, you can opt for a spacious platform beneath the bed that can be accessed when you lift the mattress. Ultimately, your choice will come down to what's most convenient for you.
